as a lineman i work in extreme electro magnetic fields every day. probably thousands of times higher than any of you will ever experience.

statisticly our work group has no higher incidence with major medical problems than the average person.

you probably are at more risk with a cell phone next to your head. (that is if you are driving while using it!)

direct electrocution is still the highest risk for us. however, more of us get hurt driving to work than we do on the job.

take it for what it is worth.

as for the flash over theory, when a high voltage line shorts out to ground it always does it at the structure supporting the conductors. that is the shortest distance.

unless of course the wire breaks and hits the ground!

oh yeah as far as property value goes you might want to avoid a potential campsite if there is one of these nearby!

you might not get much sleep.

and although big power lines would seem more dangerous the ones in front of your house can cause more problems!
