Rivet What?

This has bugged me for a while, the whole "Rivet Master" title that has somehow been applied to me after posting 500 times. A lot of those posts were my gibberish lack of auto knowledge nonsense, reaching out for someone to cuff me upside the head to calm down.

I have tried to help out others as best as I can but often defer to those on the site that have a far greater knowledge of all things Airstream than myself. I allways worry that someone reading any one of my responses would take it as gospell and look no further for a second opinion.

It wasn't until I noticed Punch's avatar that had "rivet loser" underneath where the rivets should be that I wondered if it was possible to lose mine? Who do I contact?

Please just let me be as Peter is, an "Airstream driver"

Cheers
Tony

I think if you pay, you can be whatever you want. No money to the forum, you're stuck with the forum's idea.

Tony,
Try usercp , edit your details
When all this started in 2001, we tried to come up with a reward system for posting. Since 500 posts seemed to be some futuristic, unreachable goal, we decided to bestow the highest honor "River Master" to whoever would reach that milestone.
If you try to use "Airstream Driver", the system will reset all your posts to 0 and it will say "NOOB"

I revel in titles...I'm keeping mine! Probably just a thing from my childhood!

Dean,

You and several others on this forum clearly know your stuff, and contribute a LOT of SUBSTANCE to the discussion. (and you all know who you are.)

The democratic thing to do would involve nomination for that title, and subsequent votes of approval. It could be just like a presidential election!
….Or not.

Might I suggest that the title "Rivet Grand Master" be bestowed upon you.

In user cp you can change your title to whatever you want. After I did that, the rivet seemed to lose interest and go away. I thought it was amusing that this went with the new name......

Very funny Kota. Frog, I get it.

See here's my point entirely. I personally view Kota as a far more knowledgable person about Airstreams than I, and yet only four rivets for Kota.

Yes, I have gutted, installed new air system including tanks , compressor and lines, replaced plumbing, started the change to 50 amp service (with Brads help), revinyled the interior, built all new cabinets and most importantly of all......managed to reassemble everything. It's just I feel there is so much I have yet to learn about Airstream systems.

I'm just a guy with an Airstream.

Peter, I'll come up with something else.

Cheers
Tony

I wouldnt mind going through and DELETING some of the stupid questions and posts Ive made on the forums. Surely there are enough that it would knock a few rivets off.

Yep, my hats off to Tony and Peter for actually getting things put back together the right way.

I'm so far behind in that regard it's scary

That's better. A little "The Pink Floyd" while driving is great for the soul.

Oh, forgot to add replaced Sub floor and door hinges (with John's help) and others to my original list of things I have done.

I have two Maxxair fans to put in next year which will test my riveting skills for sure as I haven't touched the exterior skin yet, save to reseal windows, marker lights, door and spot lamp.

Cheers to you all.
Tony

I really should have included Dean (dadstoy) and a whole lot of other members as well. Pretty hard to single out any given individual considering how so many of us work on our rigs constantly trying to improve them.

So my hat's off to all of you

Brad

Didn't your mother warn you about the Internet?
Everything I have done to my Airstreams is Photoshopped. I just hope no one dares to follow my instructions
