Rivet Master ~ What does it mean to you?

Well, I think (unless it is one of those dreaded "senior moments") this should be my "big" post! I thought I would ask all of you, newbies to those with thousands of posts.... (whew!) what being a Rivet Master means to you!

Actually pretty exciting to me! I have never had a "master" title for anything before!

Well folks, let's hear it! What does it mean to you???

Thanks!

Mrs. NorCal Bambi (traveling in S Tardis)

I've still got a couple hundred+ to go to find out.

I guess it could mean a couple of things.
1. I've got too much time on my hands.
2. I have a high opinion of my opinions
3. My warn meter never got high enough to get me tossed off the forums

Well,

I am not even close to such a grand title, but if and when I get there, I guess that would mean my problem got even more serious.

It means my wife has given up calling me to dinner too many times.

So I get to eat my dinner alone and cold (the meal that is).

I guess it means that I have blisters on my fingers from the keyboard and not the rivet gun.

I'm comming upon my fourth...a major symbol of intense wisdom yes, but not quite the social stardom of a Fifth Rivet. Someday....when I get some money....

I just got my 4th rivet, and I'm not sure what that means to me, except that I find myself magnetized to the different threads and wanting to participate!..who knows what's in store for me when I reach that high point and honor of being a 'rivet master;

Here here ! Since I am on my way to 1000.

I just got back from two weeks of camping, maybe next weekend I'll head out. I just came home to work and pay the bills !

It means that I spend a lot of time on the PC.
It means I need more Aluminum in my life ! If I had two Airstreams, would I be on here less ? Ha, I kinda doubt it.
It means that I like to keep in touch with everyone on the forums.
It means that every now and then I do have a bit of advice or info to offer or to ask about.

Well, think about "us" ~ two of us (NorCal Bambi & Mrs.) now with Rivet Master conferred! There is no hope... aluminitis and the computer. I guess going camping is our only way to go! But "laptop will travel".... might be a theme!

I am enjoying these posts folks! And thanks for the "atta girl" notes I received! Still looking to see how the rest of you think about "The Masters".

Oh, polishing... that cuts into my computer time... I think I will put that on Don's honey-do list!

Thanks Janet! Too cool!

It means....

I type 90 WPM.

I like being around positive, energetic, helpful, insane people and can't find enough of them in my back yard.

I see the funny side and like to share the joke, even if it's on me!

I have insomnia, and the ironing is all done...

Marvin,

I certainly agree. I see you are from Canada, eh?

How many posts do you need to make rivet master under the metric system?

When I first joined, I assumed "rivets" corresponded to Airstream restoration/repair/rebuilding experience and expertise (i.e.- number of rivets removed, replaced, etc.).

Rivet masters were obviously those types willing to share their unique and invaluable knowledge attained through hours of sweaty, dirty, rusty, body-contorting fun with those of us who were just getting started. (Inland Andy comes to mind)

Then I noticed some with 3 or 4 rivets who pretty much respond to any thread with little to say.

So I guess it remains in the eye of the beholder.

Hi Mark, Funny eh! Actully I am for the US. (West Virginia) Married a girl from Canada about 5 years ago. So that is how I ended up here. Not much different than living in the states execpt for the metric system, still can't convert and am to old to start now.
