remember the annoying pop-up ad, "cereal guy"?

There was an ad a while back that generated a fair amount of talk, and someone finally posted a method of doing a modification to something in Windows that made it disappear.

I made that mod, and noticed at the time that while it did get rid of the popup guy, it also made getting to a thread slower. At that time I was accessing all the time via a DSL connection. Now when I am in the TT, I only have dial-up and speed is an issue.

If you know the thread I'm talking about, please send me (or post here) the modification so that I can reverse it.

Thanks in advance,

Aage

Rich, Trucker, sorry no, it's not that issue at all.

The forum was hosting an ad for a large cereal company and every time we (users) opened another thread, we would get a few moments of a character (always the same one) that sort of stopped our movement into the thread.

Kinda hard to describe, but someone gave some very clear instructions on how to modify something in Windows that very effectively got rid of it.

Trouble is, now that the ad is in the distant past, I can't remember what the changes were, so can't undo them.

But thanks for trying!
