record your oral history in an airstream

there is this great organiztion travelling around the country recording oral histories of everyday people and they're doing it in an airstream.

Santa Monica, CA | StoryCorps

it's in santa monica, ca at the promenade right now. i had heard about it being in the area and went down last night to see it. it was closed up but it's there for the next several weeks.

you can record your own oral history or your friends and they give you a copy and a copy goes to the library of congress. the website says they only ask for a $10 donation but it costs them $250. what a great organization. we're going to make a reservation and go back. i really wish i would have known about the whole oral history thing when my parents were alive. what a tremendous idea.

Thanks for bringing this to the attention of so many readers. I think I've heard that it has no plumbing or bathroom. Although it was a custom order, I'm sure that type of door would be very appealing to a wheelchair user (as would the prototype Airstream toy hauler).

Past reports and some images

Yes, I came up with all sorts of questions only after my father was gone.
