Red and Terry, scratching their heads.
Paddledipper is right on!
Absolutely no insult intended!
In my day (and I'm not THAT old), The OF term applied to anyone over 30.
And no-one believed they would live past 40.
I think OF'tedness should be appreciated and celebrated. Whatever age it crops up at.
And that is why I say 'thank you' to you all for your humour, erudition and wisdom.
I hope you all had a great Martin Luther King BDay, and a shout out to those that volunteered for the day.
And thank you Red for your musings, we should all get to know each other better before being tribal and exclusionary.
Sigh.....in a perfect world....

Maybe the others are here to collect their welfare checks.

Perhaps instead of welfare checks, it is mental welfare that gets tweaked and a smile comes to one's face for the wit and dry humor, or the lack thereof...

Mental welfare definitely! I have caught a whiff of that lack of humor you're speaking of... not too often, but there is a tendency in some to be prone to butthurtedness. I own The LoveStream, life's too good to whine...

-Red, trying to keep his humor wet...

Had just finished unloading a huge truckload of lumber into my backyard when a neighbor dropped by. When he found out I was going to build a deck on the back of the house 32 feet long by 12 feet deep, two stories, he said "I would never even try a project that big. "

I walked over to s 25 pound box of nails, pulled it open, and handed him a single nail. He looked at it sort of confused...

Then I said,"You do it ONE nail at a time"

He wandered off considering the nail, never to return...
