I'm old enough to remember when this was a pop tune by 'When In Rome'

Sturgill's cover is much better...

Random Thoughts

When my mother was shopping for shoes to match her dress for my brother's wedding, she and my dad started in the Altamonte mall (Altamonte Springs, Fl) First store, first pair of shoes were perfect. Perfect color, fit , style... She then tried on every other pair of shoes in that color in that store, then every other store in that mall, then every shoe store in three other malls in the surrounding area. Late that evening, they ended up back in that first store and bought that first pair. Why my dad hasn't killed himself already is beyond me...

She was shopping, not browsing. You don't want to see her browse. I hated when we went shopping for school clothes when I was a kid...

-Red, thankful for the wife he has...

Life in reverse By George Carlin

"The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends.
I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time.
What do you get at the end of it?
A death.
What's that, a bonus?
I think the life cycle is all backwards.
You should die first; get it out of the way.
Then you live in an old age home.
You get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch,
you go to work.
You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement.
You drink alcohol, you party,
you get ready for high school.
You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb,
You spend your last nine months floating...
Then you finish off as an orgasm."

I humbly consider it a service to my fellow travelers.

I think women shop, men just buy. We don't worry that another store has it for 10% off, we just buy it here where we first found it.

I gone into a couple of stores that didn't have what I was looking for, and then I went home. Nuff shopping for today.

More randomness RE shopping

Men and women Differences

THis is easy. if you think of it as hunter gatherer society.

Men get together, drink beer, plan the hunt, kill the woolly mammoth. Any man who doesn't follow the plan dies.

Women gather the seeds and berries and run around in groups to keep predators at bay (thus going to bathroom together).

Talk to scare critters in meadow away, (why we can talk so much about what seems like nothing to men, I say to you men talking is an art form lol)

Shopping lines up perfectly with looking at every little detail because if you pick the wrong colored berry (aka shoes) you could poison the tribe.

We are never very far from our ancestors, especially while camping

My mother kills the wooly mammoth, skins it, guts it, quarters it, hauls it out, butchers it, smokes it and makes mammoth bacon from it's belly fat... Don't ever let her hear you refer to her shopping as "gathering berries"! She's a ferocious shopper, out for the kill and the thrill of the hunt.

-Red, craving mammoth bacon...

Shades of George Orwell's "Animal Farm." All animals are created equal, but some are more equal than others. Women are definitely more equal than men. True equality doesn't allow for chivalry to the fair gender, only common courtesy to both genders. And yet women expect men to treat them as equals AND be chivalrous toward them. If anyone has ever figured out that trick, please let me know!

I just finished reading 1984 for the first time. Quite a depressing book. Guess I'll have to read Animal Farm next.

-Red, still trying to complete his 12th grade reading assignments...
