I'm guessing that SOBs outnumber Airstreams 1000 to 1 around here. But I still wonder why the parked ones never seem to move. There is one other than mine here in our tiny little village. I have never seen it move, either.

What's up with that?
My guess is that they read those threads on ST tires and whether you could have Michelin LT tires without incurring liability or did they have to be 16 inch rims or maybe even could you pull them with a Audi or anything less than a monster truck and they are frozen in fear....

They're just afraid to move...

Well, I have to admit, it is pretty cool to have a shiny Airstream in the driveway.

(Someday I will have to learn how to use it.)

We are thinking of going to Floyd while on vacation. Might be there in about 1 1/2 weeks. Looks like a beautiful place! Are there very many campers there?

Not right now, but might want to call, they are having a rally near Memorial Day. A few more folks have pulled in though since we arrived.

Been in the Bahamas for three days. My second home... Well, I guess my third, if you count The LoveStream as my second. Got to see lots of old friends...

On a rally with cold rain and expected 37 degree temperature by morning.

Our first trip with a new group of folks. My perception is the atmosphere is not as warm as our home group.

The weather has encouraged hibernation in our individual warm Airstreams.

We are enjoying our first trip since the latest modifications and all systems are working, which is a tremendous bonus.

The trip back from the third customization trip to A&P Vintage Trailer Works in Paradise, TX included a stop at Pie-O-Neer in Pie Town, NM. I loaded up the front of the trailer with snow and ice on the way up from the EVIC electron telescopes on US 60.

We swapped out the factory installed batwing WineGard antenna for WineGard's new Rayzar electronically tuned HD/ local stations model. It came with the necessary plates to cover the holes on the roof associated with the original antenna and a blank plate for the crank location. We did need to relocate the original antenna signal amplifier outside of the cabinet to be able to see the new control head properly.

The Truma AquaGo instant on water heater is a much smaller form factor than the factory installed 6 gallon water heater. We had to install two "studs" to make a smaller opening and covered the gaps with Airstream aluminum skin. The trim ring for the door panel and the door panel itself are made of a poly carbonate, which we discovered when the plastic primer crazed the surface. So we found a different finish for the trim ring and skinned the door panel with Airstream aluminum skin. We are working on creating a custom panel and trim piece in stainless steel. We have a new power plate coming as the water heater only needs an on/off switch for the 12Vdc power to the logic board with no trouble light. It only operates on propane so that freed up a dual circuit single slot breaker for the typical single circuit single slot breaker. We were then able to adjust the two air conditioner circuit breakers to be on different legs of the 50 amp service to balance the load.

We installed a pair of LED wide angle lights on each side of the rear bumper to light up a night parking situation. The lighted when on switch is inside the rear storage compartment with power from the compartment light.

The battery installation came out well, but I found I had to move the sofa about 1" rearward so the drawer under the sofa would latch properly. The battery filled up all the available space under the sofa, so a different much smaller subwoofer will be necessary as the supplied unit is too large for the remaining free space.

Switz - all very cool mods! Congrats!

Can you tell us more about those rear bumper LEDs? Make and model, supplier etc? Also - sounds like you created a separate switch for them - is there a way you could have connected them (in the 7 pin plug) to go on when your TV goes in to reverse?

Thanks!

Oh - and what kind of Pie did you get in Pie Town??? 😄
