Yup. In a previous life I fixed office equipment. The ribbons for "correcting Selectric typewriters (remember those?) cost $6 each for the black and $10 for the ribbon that "lifted" the carbon off the page! The machine cost $800. Wouldn't take long for the ribbon cost to equal the machine cost.

I absolutely LOVED the feel of those IBM Selectrics! Wish I had one today for kicks and giggles!
While we're in the random topic - I took "touch typing" in high school in hopes of meeting a girl (30 flowers, 1 thorn in that class :-) ).
Oh well. I at least learned to type 85 WPM. Then met my (future, first, and current) wife in a marching band a couple years later. 32nd anniversary coming up (+ 3 years dating) - is it socially acceptable to introduce her as my first wife?

I used to know a guy who referred to "first spouses" as a "Starter Wife/Husband". This usually was mentioned in the context of first (ex) wife/husband. Come to think of it, that guy was married four times.
Looks like yer Starter Wife turned out pretty well.

But I started thinking about how pissed off I would be if - one week out from picking up our new Airstream - if I was in a hospital instead of traveling. Sure makes you appreciate every day. Happy to be walking and talking and dreaming of picking up our new Classic!

Yeah, and the anger seems to be spreading. Lots of impolite drivers on the road lately. Sad.

Impolite is one thing, suicidal is an entirely different thing. Within the last few months in Gainesville area we have had two young ladies commit suicide by driving their cars into trees. Peace jim

Nobody shows any consideration for others, anymore. It's a dog eat dog world out there and it's every man/woman for himself.
On a lighter note, I ordered a new Chevy 1500 with just about every option except sunroof and DVD player. It should be here in about 6 weeks.
