Oh, yes. Sometimes I'll post on a thread, then realize after I've posted that I've contributed nothing of value.

Other times, I've deleted a post myself because… better me than the moderators!

And the winner is......... Boondockdad with the Charlie Hebdo comment!!! Humorously edgy commentary mixing current events and topical discussion, while tastefully done. A combination rarely seen on the forums, especially in such a brief post. Congratulations boondockdad! Bob Cross comes in a close second, with Protagonist getting honorable mention. The handyman might have had an awesome reply, but unfortunately deleted his comments...

-Red, handing out prizes like Oprah...

I hate how sometimes I type a pithy and informative response, spending a whole bunch of time getting it just right, I submit it, and I go get a cup of coffee, you know, one cream, no sugar? Then, when I get back what I wrote is actually a bunch of useless gibberish and I have to hit "Delete" to avoid embarrassing myself and everybody else. I hate when that happens.

Random Thoughts

Johnny, tell him what he's won!

(Announcer Voice) Boondockdad has won an all expense paid vacation for two around the United States in a luxurious Airstream Classic, being pulled by a Suburban 2500 4x4... Yes, leaving from glorious Dearborn Michigan, boondockdad and one guest will be free to camp under the stars in the deserts of Arizona, or party the night away at Mardi Gras in New Orleans. From Key West to the tip of Maine, from Washington DC to the Pacific Highway, boondockdad and guest will see the sights, taste the local quesine, and experience life as never before...*

Bob won a key chain with an LED flashlight in it, that got stuck in the on position and ran the battery down.

-Red, see, just like Oprah

* Does not include Hawaii. Any and all expenses incurred during aforementioned trip to be payed by boondockdad, including, but not exclusive to, gas, food, camp fees, tolls, clothing, cost of companion, pets, pet food, speeding tickets, camper repair, propane, electricity, battery replacement, solar panels, household goods, personal needs, travel to Dearborn, airfare, cabfare, train fare, hotel room, cable TV, tipping strippers, tipping waiters, bribing police officers, bribing judges, paying bookies, lottery tickets, alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic beverages, beverages with little umbrellas, beverages with lime wedges stuck in the neck, hot dogs from 7-11, passport fees, anything in Canada or Mexico, and anything else you can think of that costs anything... Airstream Classic and Suburban 2500 4x4 tow vehicle to be provided by boondockdad. Panama Red is an assumed name strictly for purposes of Internet forums and in no way is associated with Oprah Winfrey or Harpo Interprises... Panama Red will bear no expense whatsoever in the collection of the aforementioned prizes, except for the flashlight keychain that Bob won, which is available for pick up at the residence of Panama Red.

Watching season five of Sons of Anarchy... What's the Airstream that Unser is living in? A 78 or so?

-Red, things looking familiar...

My favorite is running barbed wire in one nostril and out the other, tying it to the waist of a full-grown mountain gorilla, and then firing a starter's pistol and he takes off running. I hate when that happens.

That's when SNL was actually live and they spent more time being funny than reading queue cards. At least it felt like improv, even if it wasn't. Hilarious!

- SM, old-farting all over Red's random thread

You know what I hate? When I take a six inch miniature of the Empire State Building and cram it up my nose... Yeah, I hate when that happens.

-Red, not as young as I used to be....
