Glad you have the AS to make an emergency shelter and exit. Are certain routes being announced on the radio? Which reminds me weather radio would be a good thing to have. We are sorry for all that flooding in your area and have concern for all of you there. Nice to see forum folks offering help. Have you ever had flooding like this before?

Ok. keep me posted. I'm going to try to head into the office now...traffic reports are showing improvement. we may need to shuffle vehicles, but like I said, there's room.

It's one of the worst we've seen since coming to NE..
My cell fone is ringing off the WX alerts none stop..
The road closures is vast and nurmous~latest report I saw was over 55 roads closed. It's gonna be a slow progress toward cleanup as the rain is forcasted for all of this week~!
Chuck, good luck to you on your drive into town~Nice of you to bail out Brian and Nancy~!
Kudos to you~!!
I'm back to pumping water...se ya~

pun intended, I presume....
made it in to the office...2 hours later. the reports of improving traffic conditions were, shall we say, "pre-mature".

With six inch of standing water, I knew you'd have no problem keeping your head above it...
On another note, after the old water pump burned out...
Just bought a new water pump for the 64GT, to replace the old one..Only cost 69$.

Believing in Global Warming!
Wow, I'm so sorry to hear about your problems in the north east.
I'm planning to visit Portland Maine in June for a convention, but I hope things improve for you all NOW for the sake of your homes, businesses and Airstreams.
Lets all get together and think SUNSHINE!
If you get a chance to come to Virginia it's been a bit cooler than usual, but generally very nice weather.
Best to all y'all, Paula Ford

NEU and fellow New England forum members:
If you need to leave your home due to flooding you can park your Airstream in our barnyard or in the barn next to "The Tube". We've got water/30amp electric/WiFi/waste dump (qty 3 30amp plugs) Oh, the barnyard is a muddy mess but it's not in danger of being under water.

Unbelievable what a difference a hundred and fifty miles can make!!! From about Augusta, Maine North we've had gorgeous weather all weekend, right thru today. It's so unusual to have such a sharp line of demarcation between weather systems. The news tonight suggests that things may be moderating for tommorrow.

This brings back memories of our mid-America century floods of the 1990's like they were yesterday We feel so sad that you all are enduring this. We hope that the much needed weather change comes soon and that those of you in the regions of the flood waters emerge safely--life and health concerns first and possessions after. (But let's all send out really strong vibes for the safety of the Airstreams in the regions too ) ~G

Firedog, I'm just up the road in southern NH if you want to move your AS. Let me know. You can tow it here in 15 minutes.

Sun is good. I'm happy to hear it is still up there and we are starting to see some "brightening" of the sky where I live! It was quite the experience to understand what it feels like to live in the rainy sections of the country (Oregon? Washington?) but I'm done now with this experience...I don't want any more of it.
We made it thru another day staying home and the rain continues to fall sporadically in Northeastern New England. We felt better staying put at our home manning the pumps and tending to other aspects of flood control than evacuating (thank-you, tho, to everyone's kind offers of courtesy parking). We traveled around the area yesterday and witnessed quite a bit of devastation. On one part of the Merrimack River, one marina's dock's were totally destroyed. The docks are a pile of mangled wood and aluminum. Some of the docks broke free and traveled out with the tide only to collide and destroy another marina's docks further down the river. Many boats are damaged too but luckily everyone, so far, is safe and sound. There have also been reports of two major sewer mains breaking up river on the Merrimack which spells a health hazard too for those of us living downstream. My fingers are crossed that some of the older dams hold up for a few more days else the situation could quickly escalate further.
