Made it throught the night ok. The water rose another 4-5" overnight...our backyard is now unofficially part of the lake! I'm off to stoke up the wood stove and assess the neighorhood. Many people evacuated last night but I can see through my window that many others stayed behind...and the rain is still coming down.

Send some of that rain down here! We are 7+" UNDER normal. As you know some areas of Florida are suffering from wildfires. A good soaking is what we need.

Thumbs up An quick fix

Hi gang~
OUCH NANCY~that picture of your backyard send chills up my spine~!!
, I'm soo sorry to hear of your plight..
It's felt by all and, I know that makes it no less bearable.
We have water coming in our basement as well. Just barely, compared to you and others.
Airstream to the rescue in more than one way. let me explain...
After spending all day yesterday running the shop vac draining the water, the bucket brigade finally gave up..JUST TOO TIRED.
FLASH~!!
I went out to our 64GT and stole the water pump..Got it hooked up to run water out thru the heater vent opening..Ran for, I don't know how many hours before it finally died...Not bad for an old water pump..
It didn't stop the "flood" but, it gave us the break we needed to get some sleep..WHEW..
My prayers goes out to those under greater fllood pressure.
ciao

Nancy, you are welcome to come and hookup in my driveway. W/E/Wi-fi

We've got room, and we're high and dry. except that getting here might be a problem.... they said that 133 is closed near 95, but you should be able to get in via Rt 1.

I'm hangin out at home for the time being, as there's no point of trying to get to Boston, roads being what they are. 1 is closed...128/93 are clogged. It would be time to go home by the time I get there....

Thanks for your kind offer...we may take you up on it. Last night we had "voluntary" evacuations...we suspect that today it may turn into "mandatory". If so, we will pack up the animals and point our silver ark due south!

Glad you have the AS to make an emergency shelter and exit. Are certain routes being announced on the radio? Which reminds me weather radio would be a good thing to have. We are sorry for all that flooding in your area and have concern for all of you there. Nice to see forum folks offering help. Have you ever had flooding like this before?

Ok. keep me posted. I'm going to try to head into the office now...traffic reports are showing improvement. we may need to shuffle vehicles, but like I said, there's room.

It's one of the worst we've seen since coming to NE..
My cell fone is ringing off the WX alerts none stop..
The road closures is vast and nurmous~latest report I saw was over 55 roads closed. It's gonna be a slow progress toward cleanup as the rain is forcasted for all of this week~!
Chuck, good luck to you on your drive into town~Nice of you to bail out Brian and Nancy~!
Kudos to you~!!
I'm back to pumping water...se ya~

pun intended, I presume....

made it in to the office...2 hours later. the reports of improving traffic conditions were, shall we say, "pre-mature".

With six inch of standing water, I knew you'd have no problem keeping your head above it...
On another note, after the old water pump burned out...
Just bought a new water pump for the 64GT, to replace the old one..Only cost 69$.

Believing in Global Warming!

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear about your problems in the north east.

I'm planning to visit Portland Maine in June for a convention, but I hope things improve for you all NOW for the sake of your homes, businesses and Airstreams.

Lets all get together and think SUNSHINE!

If you get a chance to come to Virginia it's been a bit cooler than usual, but generally very nice weather.

Best to all y'all, Paula Ford
