well, if it has to be a project that is stalled... then I am picking a wall hanging that I never finished. When is labor day?

What are the rules?

Before and after picture?

Jezibels, you make it sound so easy. Some of us are older than dirt, or close to, and haven't a clue on all this techno stuff. can't even figure out how to change a phone number on our telephones. We are getting better however. Must keep my machine manuel close at hand, as I have a hard time remembering which button to press for the needle down option. Do know that I love to sew, craft, paint and create things. So I am happy overall.

UFOs

Glad I'm not the only one that doesn't finish! Here is my thoughts-
1. I think gift card is better than fabric- but mostly I think that because I have stacks and stacks of fabric already!
2. The $5 buy in was just for my local group. For this spread out group, I'd say no buy in at all- it's open to everyone. If anyone wants to send something in to add the the "prize" then feel free. If you don't feel free to still enter!
3. Yes, we will help everyone learn to upload! It's fun AND educational.

The Rules:
All photos of UFOs will be posted to the loop (I suggest we start a new thread) between May 23 and May 30. May 30th is Memorial day, usually recognized as the start of summer vacation. You may post as many UFOs as you have! No adding new UFOs after Memorial Day.

Post finished UFOs as you are done, but the contest closes on September 5 (Labor Day) Again, traditionally recognized as the end of summer vacation.

For every UFO you complete, you will be entered in the drawing. Draing to take place in my living room on September 8th. Need not be present to win.

Sound good?
Teresa

Carmilla, if we want to sent some $$, for the prize, do we need to PM you to get your address? or How do you want to handle the prize contributions?
Also, if you can help us with posting pictures, can you also find my camera?

Making sure I understand...may we send you a JoAn's gift card in what ever amount and those together will make up the prize or send you $$? Which do you prefer? I know, I know. I'm dense. ~G

What exactly counts as a UFO? I have alot of "never been started's" . Most of the fabrics etc are there but no cutting or sewing has been done on them.

It could be a Quilting Potluck, we could all donate something that we know another quilting Airstreamer would like or need, Notions/Fabric/Gift Card - the winner would receive a quilting Grab Bag full of goodies!

Now this is sounding really cool!

Quilting UFOs

A pile of fabric and a pattern count as a UFO- just take a picture of it!
Weeeelllll... I have a dog I trained to find my cell phone and my car keys, I suppose a cmaera wouldn't be too hard

Prizes:
Whatever you want to donate, gift card, checks, etc. We'll jusy put it together in one big gift box. I would however, ask you to remember a few things:
Airstreamers are short on space, fabric may not be the best gift.
Think small- thimbles, needles, etc. I know spare rotary cutter blades are a big hit in my local quilting circle.

Send prize donations to my office:
Mina's Tail
Po Box 343
Westmoreland, KS 66549
If you want to send a check to add to the Jo-Ann's gift card, make that out to Mina's Tail as well. (We make custom dog collars and dog coats)

Remember, prize donation is NOT necessary to enter.
NO pictures and entries before the start date. On the start date, I will post a new thread for the contest.

Did I answer all of the questions?

Carmilla, would you please send your "camera finding" dog to me asap. In addition to working on my ufo's need to locate the camera before we head out to Montana the end of the month.
Check will be in the mail, along with some other little contribution., Susan

does it have to be a "quilt"??? I am askin cause the wall hanging I am making is not technically a quilt but it is a UFO.

But you said a pile of fabric and a pattern and that could really apply to a wide variety of things.

Just seeking clarity!

The thread is quilts, but I would think that the way this thread has progressed any UFO would apply. And I would probably guess most of the quilters here also have many UFO's that are not quilts.

"Quilt" definition

As far as the wall hanging- alright you forced me to say it...
Size doesn't matter

I'd say pieced, but I'm a fan of the white on white quilts.

This is supposed to be fun- so we'll leave it up to the individuals to decide if theirs is a quilting UFO.

My mother makes patchwork quilt style vests, so who's to say. Everyone who wished to enter the challenge is a quilter, I trust their judgement. We're not giving away a pink cadallac, so I don't think there's enough at stake for cheating to occur.

UFO's

Pink- Im entering one quilt and also an item or two that are pieced / sewn / quilted but are not specifically "quilts" per say.

Gosh I cannot wait for this to begin!

@ sempi ! I just love the needle down feature on my huskvarna, it is like a third hand. And I love this quote.

I feel absolutely the same way. Though, if I was doing more craft I would be happier. Jess (jezibel) has these fantastic time management abilities that I envy. Over the past year she has found time to crank out some beautiful things! Girl you rock!

This is a great thread and I love the contest Teresa. I am so glad that you made it for a good long time. I would be so pleased to get one UFO done.

Hi, Pink1. Were you trying to steal Neil and Lynn's Buick?
