I just happen to have a Singer 221 Featherweight with all the bells and whistles, hard case with handle, lots of attachments like hemmer, binder, ruffler and more. I even have the complete instruction manual too. Had it serviced a few years back at the Singer shop so it runs great.

Send me a PM and best offer with shipping gets it.........

Carol

For anyone "unloading" excess stash, many quilting guilds and churches have groups that quilt for charitable causes such as for veterans, children in foster care or hospitals, seniors in care facilities and so on. Gifts of fabric are gold to these groups, providing the goods for their projects. Just a suggestion...~G
There are several ladies at the Washington Land Yacht Harbor in Olympia (Lacey) that sew/quilt for charities and are also on the lookout for fabrics. They also knit hats for charity. PM me for info

Jexibels - cool tree skirt! Well done.

Maybe we should have a special section for us quilters/sewers in the forums classifieds - then we could offer our tools plus tasty stashes!

Did you make that one out of scraps or buy more for it? I like that it's square instead of round. I also like the fabric choices.

Except for the red handkerchief material (I had to buy 2 yards of that fabric), its all scraps, shirts, baby clothes, curtains and the batting is 3 sheets.

Jezibel, that tree quilt looks awesome! Love it! And I love the fact that it's square.

I just wrote a quick blurb on my blog about doing my hobby in the airstream.

Quilting and Airstreams

On my way to the condo in TN for a few days. Going to teach my niece some sewing skills.

Thanks, Nicki.

I'm back at the condo this weekend. I'm getting my niece started on a craft sewing hobby. Teaching her some basics. Maybe make a purse or something...

Thought about another place to sandwich quilts. We have the queen walk-around bed. I can move the mattress and work from the bed platform if I get desperate. It's a hassle, but it can work.

Working on a baby boy quilt this weekend. Had to put it down for a while. I figured I'd take this time to get it sandwiched so I can take it back to the airstream and quilt it next week.

What's everyone else working on?
~Lois

With being gone and now playing catchup all week, zero quilting has been done here. I did get a Robin Hood type outfit sewn for a party the teenager went to last night. and I have been doing my knitting when I have some time to just sit. Very soon I will fire up the embroidery machine and just some fleece squares going. we have more requests for the cancer blankets and I need to do my share on that. Also need to start on teenagers winter coat now that we finally have the wool she wanted. I have one for me also but won't get to just yet since I have about 3 others I can wear. She only has 1 short one that we don't know if it even fits anymore. She has gained some weight since last year. Projects keep piling up. It never ends.

I have finished another flower for the Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt. In the middle of the next one.

I am currently (taking a break from it right now) working on the wall cover for the bedroom in the A/S. Our '71 overlander had a wall panel riveted to the inside wall(piece of cardboard with velour or velvet over it) that only showed when you laid the couch down to make the bed. We took it off because it was 39 years old. Then I spent a rather chilly night in the trailer (on that side of the bed) and discovered exactly why that panel was there. Will post pictures as soon as I finish it as well as a link to the blog post on how I did it.....

What am I working on? In typical quilter fashion I have these projects currently in production:
a stars and log cabin quilt - class I took
a table runner with coffee theme for my sister for Christmas
a table runner (spiral) for a sister -in-law for Christmas
a queen size Thimbleberries quilt I started a few years ago - everything's pieced, I just need to put it together
I have 4? quilt tops done but need time and motivation to get them onto my quilter to quilt
lots of ideas and a few other things in process I can't think of right now
Not enough time in a day - my full time job is cutting into my quilting too much I think! Oh, and a friend just talked me into another quilt class!

Ain't that the truth!

My niece is on her way for a sewing lesson this afternoon. Got a baby quilt pinned that I need to quilt (next week's task). When I finish this baby quilt, I'm on to my next baby quilt (this one for future February granddaughter).

Trying to stay on a fabric shopping ban. Man, it's tough....

Batiks tend to be my downfall when I go into a quilt shop. Just gotta have that one - no idea what I'll do with it, but I'll find something eventually..........
Luckily hubby has a woodworking hobby, and tends to be the same with wood, just not as often. Fabric is easier to store!

I have an idea on that one. Paper Piecing Hex Quilt

http://capriciouscrafting.blogspot.c...azy-quilt.html

It what I have done to use up all the random Fat Quarters I have purchased over the years not to mention an piece of scrap material that's 2 inches or bigger. The hex glue stick sessions can be done while you are riding in the truck down the road to your next destination.....

What am I working on?

Hmmm...this takes a while and takes me back in time to...
1. Thimbleberries quilt, 2 years old...lately I've gotten back to it and completed two more months' projects.
2. Two Christmas panels for grandkids' families, Nativity story, one mostly done.
3. Jelly roll quilt project in sunny Provencal strips, in "thinking about" stage
4. Runge Conservation Center monthly squares, I'm behind as usual! Honestly, I don't like this year's project, so I'll pick up on this again after January.
5. Handquilting practices
6. Applique class "homework"
7. Paper Piecing class, upcoming next week
8. Quilt-all-days at local quilt shop (two days monthly)
9. Classes for new Bernina sewing machine (4 weeks)
10. Reorganizing old wardrobe full of stash and projects-ugh!
For a year and a half while I cared for my mom with Hospice assistance, I lost the interest in any of this. Now, I'm loving it again, but I have so much "old" to finish and catch up on! ~G

Crocheters & knitters (or maybe needleworkers), too??

How about "Fabric Arts" or "Textile Arts"? These would cover a multitude of connected interests, including quilting, needlepoint, and so on. ~G
