@ sempi ! I just love the needle down feature on my huskvarna, it is like a third hand. And I love this quote.

I feel absolutely the same way. Though, if I was doing more craft I would be happier. Jess (jezibel) has these fantastic time management abilities that I envy. Over the past year she has found time to crank out some beautiful things! Girl you rock!

This is a great thread and I love the contest Teresa. I am so glad that you made it for a good long time. I would be so pleased to get one UFO done.

White on white

A white on white quilt is a solid piece of fabric, witha design quilted into it- no patchwork. THe great part is all your needlework really shows up. The bad part is, all your needlework really shows up!

It can be any color- I like yellow for baby quilts.

Carmilla, your white quilt is beautiful! Did you do the quilting? Years ago, a relative showed me an early 1800's all white bed qult. I was awestruck, and still am. That quilt was stuffed in all the stems and blossoms. The whole surface of the quilt was hand quilted in tiny, almost miniscule stitches. I'm sure it was museum worthy, but was tucked away in a drawer where I suppose it still is today. Again, you have made a treasure. ~G

Noooooooo!!!!!

Nope, sorrry to say it's not mine. I've only done white on white for baby quilts! Not quite ready to try something that big. I grapped a photo online to show as an example. It is stunning though, isn't it? Wish it were mine

Airstream veggie garden?

What is an Airstream veggie garden? Are you growing plants as you go, or is it decorated in a veggie theme? Sounds intriguing either way. Photos?

Well for those of you who do not know me I am currently attending UC Davis. I live in SF but park my supercool trailer in Dixon at a farm/horse ranch. And go home on the occasional weekend. My landlord let me put in a huge garden and it is coming along nicely, though I have had an outbreak of gopher piles in the walking paths.

And so without further ado I am posting gardening pictures on the quilting thread. I am going to SF this weekend but when I get back I will post a more recent picture. Everything is bigger!

Airstream veggie garden

Awesome garden and love that you start seedlings in your Airstream! I'm also a gardener, so this was great for me to see. In some areas of Indiana, people plant flower gardens in patterns that form quilt blocks when in full bloom. There is a driving tour available to view these, and one of my goals for this summer or next is to incorporate that tour into one of our travels in the AS. When we do that, I'll be sure to take photos. Meanwhile, here is an article about the quilt gardens if anyone is interested: Quilt Gardens in Bloom - Country Woman Magazine

Gardening*Camping*Quilting These go together so well!

Your garden is scooting along really well Pink! I hope to get out there to scratch around this weekend after the 15 weeks of rain we have had here in ChiTown.

Nice article and what a great idea to tour these gardens. It was Jess who inspired me to garden. I kept seeing her efforts and I love good produce so I finally got off my keister and went for it. I have another year and a half in school and the place where my trailer is parked is pretty cool. Once you have done the initial investment of time, effort and money that is when the fun starts. My beans and corn are coming up from seed and that is so exciting to watch. Traded some plants at school yesterday and got a Cherokee purple and orange cherry tomatoes, which is cool since I didn't plant any of those this year.
Smiles,
Pink
