I have run alot of Marathons in that past twenty some odd years and needed to do something with all the shirts. For the past three years I have cut the shirts, ironed them and apply an interfacing on each square. It took alot of time to arrange the squares to look good, but I am gaining on it! Great quilt, Don! It's okay if you didn't do the actual sewing- as far as I'm concerned, any man who takes in interest in appreciating art is a great man!

And, I love your red-point Persian!!

Don, the shirt graphics are fantastic, those we can see. What a keepsake! And welcome to this thread. Please keep us posted on the progress of your quilt. ~G

You know, I know more and more men that have an interest in quilting- I think it came with the rise of the long arm quilting machine- because now, quilting involves a power tool!

Carmilla, rumor has it my quilting lady has HUGH $$$$$ in her long arm setup. She asked me if I wanted a running shoe design in some of the squares? I asked for leaves, trees, mountains anything outdoors. I am anxious to see what she does! Demsey-the cat is a flame point Himalayan and gets into all my projects! Don

1) I love it that Demsey goes camping with you! I see a lot of dogs camping, and the occasional bird in a cage, but rarely cats camping with their owners. 2) I have wanted to do a t-shirt quilt for my sons for years, could never come up with a satisfactory way to do it - LOVE what you have done. 3) A surprising number of men are involved in quilting and knitting, and they do beautiful work! Then again, if women can work on road crews, why shouldn't men quilt? I love it when I see people breaking the stereotypes and just doing what they like to do. Makes for a much richer world.

I am finishing up two papers Jess.
Brought my bags of fabric that were
under the bed back to SF. I am shooting
for a Tuesday opening of the bags and
finally a beginning. (you just wait!!!)
@Don, that is an awesome quilt. Love
the interfacing on each piece. I would make
some shams to go with it, great look for a
guest room. Accent with a rabbit and tortoise
stuffed animals. All those events is a monumental
achievement, bravo. Show it proudly!

I would love to be able to take credit for this gorgeous fish quilt, but, alas, I cannot. It is beautiful!

When M&G said Lana, I just assumed she meant Liga. My name is so unusual that I'm used to people changing it to other things without intending to.

Oops! Big apologies! Liga, I have a similar situation: I'm called Gloria often in place of Georgia, but I didn't intend to repeat the mistake. Actually, I scanned back through the posts, too hastily, saw "Lana," and while it didn't seem quite right, I didn't take the time to double check. Shame on me...a lesson learned. And apologies again to both of you, Lana and Liga. ~G

I'm so out of the loop on this thread. Which is what happens when you aren't working on a project. Today I started cleaning out my craft cabinet and condensing again. What a nightmare ... at least until I had to run out to Joann's for some therapy shopping (new cutting mat the Olfa rotating run, a craft "tackle" box, some new scissors) then things started to perk up a bit!

Good use of the T's. Enjoy the memory's and they don't wind up as paint rags.
