What are you working on?
Fun stuff, Jezibels!

MINNO - Love the wintery woodland tote!

The wonky star cowgirl quilt is all finished here is a pic of the front and back. I have been working on placemats and table runners for Christmas gifts for my Mom and MIL, here is a pic of a few I completed so far. I have to say - really love wonky stars - they are great for using up your scraps.

So excited to now have a "dedicated" sewing nook - in the corner of the dinning room here is a pic of the sewing area, what does your sewing area look like?

My sewing room currentlly is in the basement - 10 x 12 or so. My daughter's cat thinks it belongs to him and that I'm there to give him attention when I'm down there. I have to keep fabrics covered or not on horizontal surfaces for storage or I find them full of cat fur. One of these days he's going to get his tail sewed on if he keeps sweeping it through the needle of my sewing machine! Gives me heart failure! I'm finishing the binding on my sister's christmas gift - I'll post a pic when it's done.

Pretty stuff Jezibels!

Hi all,

I haven't been posting on this thread recently, but am loving reading and looking at all the wonderful projects. This is a very talented group, for sure.

Here is my most recent finished project. It's a quilt for our newest grandson, a true labor of love. The colors are slightly washed out in the pictures, but I am most proud of my y seams. I didn't know what I was doing when I started and I certainly got a lot of practice on those y seams. The fabric was some of Caryl Bryer Fallert's hand dyed that I got in Paducah a few years ago. That trip was the first time that I took the Airstream on my own (I survived and thrived) and stayed in it for the whole show.

All the best, (and I hope the pictures come through)

Caryl

Latest Completed Project

Here are a few pics (2 front, 1 back) of a 15th Anniversary Quilt I made for my cousin and her husband. (Missed the anniversary end of November, but completed in time for Christmas). Fun with batiks...

I bring hand projects with us on vacation. If we go on a long trip, I'll bring a machine.

Hello, quilting sisters, and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Most of our company has left, and my thoughts are turning back to the UFO's from this year. I actually finished and gifted two projects: A Nativity wall hanging panel with hand quilting, and a "red work" embroidery done in blue with pieced borders and corner stones-finished as either a wall hanging or table topper. No pictures I'm making good progress on two sampler quilts: one in B/W for grandson and one in prairie colors. Happy quilting to everyone for the new year! ~G

Just a reminder (plea) to my quilting sisters and brothers for quilt squares for a Quilt of Valor. I posted the instructions in November. I've gotten 2 squares so far from Mrs. Silverhoot - I'm hoping for many more by the end of January! PM me for my address when you're ready to mail!

Kay, I apologize that I had forgotten this over the busyness of the holiday. Let me talk with my local quilting sisters, a group of five retired middle school teachers. When I explain, I think they'll each want to do at least one block if not two. It may be late in January when I can gather and mail them, but I'm sure it will happen. Thank you SO much for the reminder. Kudos to you and Mrs. Silverhoot. ~G

Looking for information on Airstream logos

Hi, I was hoping someone might know of a source for Airstream embroidery software or designs that can be purchased or shared for a Janome machine. I would love to make some personal items for our 1967 Caravel. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a quilter too but hope this is not off the subject too far. Thank you!

To Minno...Kay, I've sewn three of the valor blocks this morning, simple, quick, and fun to do. I'm a very pokey seamstress and a block takes me only about 35 to 40 minutes to cut and complete. I recommend a few to all our thread readers. I've had at least four responses from quilting friends here. I think I'll come up with more than that, so I can see us producing quite a few blocks to send to you from the quilting day we set up, next week or the week after. They emailed of being "excited" and "honored" to work on the project. Please send me your PM with your address so I'll be able to send these on to you later in January. ~G

Great news on the quilt squares! I'm going on a weekend quilt retreat the end of January and was kind of hoping to have enough to finish a top (or 2) that weekend. As I promised before, ALL blocks will be used!

A retreat...what fun! I've not been able to send back a reply to your PM so this is just to say I received it and that I'll send on the blocks we created later in January, hopefully in time for you to set during your retreat. Thanks for initiating this fine project. ~Georgia

I'll be sending you at least one block and probably 3 or 4. I just finished cutting out my pieces for my prototype and plan to do some stitching tomorrow. I too, am a very pokey seamstress.

So glad you are doing this! Thank you!
