Could swear I saw a post in this thread asking if I was the other As in the Fayetteville, Ar campground last fall. Yes, we were the other AS.

I would like to connect that AS with the right forum member. Let me know who posted that query.

I am so happy to see this thread! Just bought our 2003 22' CCD in April and first thing I did was to make a quilted duvet cover for it! The AS has a great desk in back (hubby thought it was for him to work at with computer) that will work well for quilting with Featherweight. Love some of the suggestions from you all! Now if I could just figure out all the ins and outs of the Forums and posting....

Quilting at rallies

We are planning a quilting/sewing event for next year's Tin Can Tourist rally in Lynden WA.

This year we arranged a visit/discount at the Tangled Threads quilting shop in Lynden. Next year, we plan to have a project that we can easily complete in a 4 hour period, such as a pillow case or place mat.

I travel with a 1946 Singer Featherweight and my Elna Super, which was purchased for my 16th birthday many years ago. The 36" x 24" Olfa mat travels under our mattress. Thread, sewing gear, etc, lives in various sized tackle boxes that stack and store easily. Our fold down dining table serves as the sewing table.

I've just finished the piecework on a quilt based on Moda's "Happy Camper Too" fabric. Time to add the batting, baste and quilt. Will post pics later.

Nicki, nice hand quilting on the baby quilt! I hand quilted years ago when my children were babies, but I'd let the skill go by the wayside. Just recently, I've begun practicing again on a feather design for a pillow. In the beginning, my stitches were so long, but after a couple of weeks, they are shortening. Other than suffering sore fingertips, I'm enjoying this, but the project is going to be very strange looking with the various stitches. I love the bright colors...a little baby should be so happy wrapped up in your quilt ~G

Thank you so much... However, you can see the pinnacle of my hand quilting success. I don't have the patience for the more intricate patterns. I'm Ok with this! I can commiserate with you on the sore fingers. If I don't stab myself at least once everyday I am quilting I feel as if nothing has gotten done..

Baby Quilt

Here is the 2nd scrap quilt I have ever completed (by hand).
I wanted to just get it done and move on so I used a 100% cotton white sheet for the backing and machined the binding.

Anyone else use a sheet for the backing fabric?

Love the layout on that it. I have not use a sheet for the backing but I've used them for curtains at time or two!
