dynamic ip's a leased, that is they need to be renewed at regular intervals. We setup the ones where I work to 7 days. The new ip happens automaticly and the clients never knows it. Most of the time they get the same ip address again.
Nothing is fool proof, sh!t happens. When you think you have an IP problem the ipconfig command is a great tool.
I have this problem with my laptop, it seems there are no less than 8 other wireless networks within range of my card. I have to refresh the network whenever someone reboots their system, and remind my computer home is what I want to connect to. Do you have Windows managing your wireless card, or the card manufacturer's software?
Good morning Terry!..I'm here on the laptop, no problems today!..I did notice the ip addreses on the laptop and the desktop are the same at least in the first 3 parts of the address listing..Ok, now you've got me..I'm clueless about whether if Windows is managing my wireless card or the card manufacturer's software..I know that the card is already built in (or is it integrated) to the hp laptop..I'd have to ask my son who has the computer know-how..thnx!
