Maggie,
We are so saddened to hear of the sudden loss of your best friend. We met you at Alumalina last year; I remember you crocheting that hat! We will keep you and your family in our prayers. We know you have wonderful memories that will keep you strong. Hoping to see you down the road someday!

Thanks to you all for your support and prayers.

Stopped for fuel and a potty break, wanted to post quickly here that I would like to thank each pm'er individually, but the pm frequency here won't allow me to do that quickly.

Blmitch suggested the airstream dealer in Murfreesboro, TN, which is right on my route home. I am going to call them later about winterizing sometime tomorrow, as I don't know how far I will get today.

Thinking this was a 1500 mile trip, it is actually about 950 miles and about 15 hours, which is much better. Should be able to be home tomorrow.

Many are worried about me driving this alone, please know that this vehicle is easy to drive and I have driven it before. We also just had a full service and tire rotation.

I dumped the holding tanks this am, for the first time, with visual assistance only from a fellow traveler at a campground I stopped at. No spillage, I did fine. Did want someone there to walk me thru it and knew I would find someone at a campground.

And so, I am sure Doug is my co-pilot on this long drive home, as he would never, ever, let me do this alone. I also have the warmth and caring from so many people here and elsewhere. All of that will see me home safely, I am sure.

Thanks to you all,

Maggie

Maggie, I am in Chattanooga, TN right off the interstate. I'll pm you my phone number. Feel free to call if you need a stop. I also have some antifreeze we can put in your tank. Be careful.

Kathy

I am in Brunswick, GA and will be starting to head toward home later today. I am going to find a campground to help me dump the tanks and put in a little fresh water.

Before I get back into Illinois, probably Saturday, I am going to have to re winterize. Is there anyone on the interstate trajectory from here maybe in KY who can help me with this? I haven't looked at the maps too much, but will use major interstates so I don't have to focus too much on navigation.

I will check back in to nite. Thank you all so much.

Maggie,

I just stumbled onto this thread today—as you know I haven't been watching things as much—and am shocked. When I read the first post from 3/11, I was sure the outcome was not going to be good with such a long time without sufficient oxygen to Doug's brain. It looks like you did everything right and we can only do so much in these circumstances. A good friend died last fall after his heart stopped and he suffered so much damage his wife eventually had to remove life support.

You know this won't be easy. But your strength and love for everyone always shows in your posts over the years as well as in this thread. I am sure you will pass this test, though there are rough times to go through.

My friend's wife started in a grief group recently. Think about doing the same when you can.

My thoughts are with you.

Gene

Wishing you all strength and sending up prayers. Your story of the fellow campers jumping in with CPR was amazing. Glad you have family there for support. Kelly

The rv dealership in Murfreesboro is going to get me in for winterization when I get there in the am.

I am reading every post and pm, and appreciate them and the offers of help more than I can express. I just need to get home.

Safe travels Maggie. Make sure you get enough rest as you make your way home. I know you're probably exhausted.

Wife Robin and I have followed this thread with such heavy hearts. Although we have never met, we send our love, condolences and support.

We are so glad you two had the opportunity to share the last several years enjoying the freedom of the road together.

What a blessing and I know you have many fond memories......and I agree, you have a co-pilot aboard.

Please drive safely and God Bless you and your family.
