I read you might need some help...
Glad to offer but we are in southern Indiana en route to Chicago. If we can intersect or get close well do whatever we can to help you.
Send a pm and let me know.

So these three things
continue forever: Faith, Hope, and Love.
And the greatest of these is Love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

Please accept our deepest sympathy. We are continuing to pray for you.

Maggie, I'm just checking in to make sure you are safe. It makes me nervous that you are doing this long trip by yourself while you are most certainly exhausted. I do know that your co-pilot is there by your side. He will watch over you. I hope Lili is there with you too.

Hopefully you have help from relatives and friends nearby. Do not be afraid to accept any help offered. Do not try to do all by yourself. Please, please, please try to take a few minutes every hour for self reflection, prayer or just silence and physically relax if possible. You have many friends still praying for you. Peace. Jim

Maggie,

Chuck and I are saddened to learn of Doug's passing. We met you last March at Alumalina and have shared many times the wonderful story of how Lily became a member of your family. Please know we are thinking of you during this very difficult time.

Am at A&L RV in Murfreesboro, TN, who are winterizing and getting me back on the road.

Sweet little Jodi in the service center here asked if she could pray with me and did, for me and for Doug, for both our peace and comfort and my safe trip home. Her grandpa did the same. They are actually from just down the road from where we live.

I feel Doug is with me, am talking to him and telling him he needs to help me get home, handle the mountains, navigate thru Atlanta, to plan his funeral, music, etc.

I also believe...after 3 resuscitations still had him flatlined, then his heart just, miraculously, began beating again....that he came back so his body could be around a few more days. Give time for the kids to get here and us to work thru the process of having to take him off the ventilator. If I had had to deal with sudden cardiac arrest, from which he never regained a heartbeat, I don't know how I would have managed that. He is helping me, and will continue to do so.

I feel certain he was with me yesterday, when I nearly put unleaded into our diesel tank.....I of course know better, but am in a bit of a fog, saw a green nozzle and.... He also whispered " it's the prudent thing to do" this morning, when I debated whether I really needed to lock up the Interstate when I ran to take a shower.

If I listen, he will guide me, as he would never just go off and leave me to figure everything out by myself. He was a truly good and kind man, and I am so fortunate to have had him in my life.

Thank you for all the support, comfort and caring. I feel enveloped.

My son came and drove Lily home.

I will be home tonight and be glad for her comfort.

Getting back on the road now.

Maggie, my wife and I have tears in our eyes reading your words. Your courage and strength is remarkable given the situation. We wish we were nearby to help you. I'm sure everyone on this forum and in your life share in your grief and wish for peaceful resolve for you and your family. I can only imagine your pain. I hope that in time it will lessen and again one day you'll join up with some of these wonderful, thoughtful Airstreamers and continue the journey you and Doug started. I think he would probably want you to. We're all here for you and wishing you peace.

Our thoughts love and prayers,
Mark and Laurie

I just saw this thread and was shocked and saddened at the news of Doug's passing. You have our deepest sympathies.

We met you and Doug at one of the Moraine View Airforum rallies.

You will be in our prayers.

Stopped for food and fuel, should be home within 3 hours.

Thanks to all for your continued prayers and words of comfort.

Doug's daughter has composed his obituary, with just a bit of tweaking from me.

It is beautiful, and comforting to read. I am going to post it here sometime soon. Also the picture from my daughter's wedding that we will use.
