POLY - wants a cracker!!

Have you ever heard of Jimmy Buffett?
Over the last year, myself and 3 other airstream enthusiasts have realized that we not only share a love of Airstreams, but that we also love music by Jimmy Bufett! This has sparked a new club within the Airstream world. POLY - Parrotheads On Land Yachts. We are planning a Midwest rally to one of his concerts this Summer.

For those of you that are not familiar with Jimmy Buffetts music, I encourage you to listen to his playful carribean tunes.

Jimmy Buffett released a CD last year entitled "Far Side Of The World". On this disk is a DVD trailer that shows Jimmy and his band recording a couple of songs in a vintage Airstream (Caravanner?) that he converted to a recording studio-very cool! Clearly Jimmy has outstanding taste.

Let me know what you think about POLY. Thanks.

Curtis

as a singer/songwriter/guitarist myself, I am quite familiar with Buffet of course. His music always appeals to the roving wayfarer...the sailer, camper, etc.
I think we all share a common thread of loving the outdoors, the simple beauty of it all, and the off beat things like Airstreams.
I spent almost a year sailing and living in the USVI, and Buffet is King there , alnog with the local Reggae and calypso music.
Playing his tunes in the clubs in St Thomas gave mne a steady following there.

Nibblin On Spongecake

Curtis -

I missed the trip last year, but you KNOW I'll be there this year along with the Arg! Being "one of the three", I can't wait!

Great to see you join the forum. Now get the other two on here!

Do you know the date Jimmy will be at Alpine?

Thumbs up Parrotheads With Airstreams

Aloha!

I think that you are onto something incredible. Parrotheads and Airstreamers are each an eclectic gruoup of individuals. I can see this as a union that could "make beautiful music together"... sorry, I couldn't resist. Please keep me posted!

Thank You. -il'noise

You fellas may want to check if Jimmy has any licensing to the name Parrothead's. Heard he can be a real stickler about copyrights, though most of it is to do with Margaritaville.
