Playing it safe

I moved my Airstream out of the driveway this morning, just in case.

My guess is a AC condenser and a air handler evaporator. Looks like a old air handler coming out. At first I through a genset then saw the fan.

interestering, Is it normal procedure to have AC units on the tops of houses in the Phoenix area? They look like some very large units especialy with the huge airhandler/fan. That is something you would never see in my neck of the woods.

That is what I was thinking, look more like commercial units.

First picture is the old AC (heat pump) unit coming off.
Second is a very old evap cooler coming off.
Third is the new AC (heat pump) going on.

It is pretty common in Phoenix to install these units on the roof. Both units are rated at 5 tons, but the new one is smaller and more efficient.

Notice that the Airstream is a safe distance away.
