Like so many people around the world, the news of the wide spread destructions and, the horrific deaths caused by the Tsunami was shocking~
Not satisfied with the "canned" news accounts on TV, I set off to do some further research on this.
This one site shows the daily on-going recovery progress. I hope it's proves to be a source of enlightenment for you, as it was for me.

This web site contains over 3000 photos..
I can safely say that, after looking over this, there's nothing shown on here to offend nor shock your sensibility. Rather, it does show the before and after pictures of the resort area and the level of destruction.
The pictures of the rapid recovery progress is something else..

In just a few days, despite all the deaths and hardship, the folks in some area have done a fantastic job of recovery. It's not over by any means but..

I agree with you.
I've felt for a long time that, thru the power of the internet, one can achieve just about anything in searching for information.
BTW, in case you didn't catch it, those pictures are updated daily..
