"The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit." Nelson Henderson
That being said, I planted two trees this year that I am hoping will provide shade in my life time. I selected them primarily for their fast growth. As stated earlier, fast growing trees usually are not as long lived or as fond of remaining upright as slow growing trees. I am hoping the two that I planted will be a good compromise.
One is a multi-stem Heritage Birch that I ordered on-line from Sooner Plant Farm.
https://www.soonerplantfarm.com/inde...il&plant_id=10 It has grown about 3 ft since planting it in late May. The other is a Hybrid Poplar that I orderd from Fast Growing Trees.
Hybrid Poplar Trees I am pretty certain that it would have grown about as much as the birch tree but the deer have eaten it back twice this summer. I have taped a clump of my dogs hair to it and that seems to have deterred the deer and growth has resumed.
I agree that you should position the tree between your trailer and the offending Sun. Not directly over it. Besides leaves, limbs, fruit, nuts and pollen you can expect a good amount of bird cr#p as well.
