Barry-
Maybe lucky, but I do wonder what was the cause of the accident? Clear day, no other traffic, roads dry. Perhaps the lucky part was that there was no one else on the road for him to hit!

And to think that his cell phone reception probably stunk way out there in the boonies!
Forget exactly when I pasted this into my computer but I think the story was out of California:

Friday night an accident occured about 300 feet from our house. 16 year old girl, college age young man, both dead, two other college aged males in critical condition. 60 mph Ford F-150's, alcohol, and oak trees do not mix.

I've seen this before and I believe it was taken at Hoover dam.

My, oh my. My stomach tightens when I climb a 6' ladder. When I look over the railing on a 2nd story porch, I have to hold on. I cannot imagine even getting over the guard rail with that kind of drop off.
Tuesday afternoon, a Dalton GA truck driver was killed in an accident nearby my house. His tractor-trailer was coming down a 55 mph limit long and steep grade with a 45 mph turn at the bottom. Apparently, the trailer brakes locked up approaching the turn, the trailer swung out, and the entire rig went off-road sideways in the curve and flipped. The trailer went on it's side, but the tractor was completely upside-down crushing the cab. I saw just a portion of the recovery, and turned away.
Made me reflect on the consequences of trailer braking and speed. This was a professional, with day-in and day-out experience. I felt like I had been watched over all the times I've driven and feel very grateful and humble. I always need to remember to be aware as much as possible.
