Thanks for the pass, Peter. Now let's see If I can post a new one.
One of the purest voices in the business, Emmy Lou Harris and Tulsa Queen.

Thanks Don, a great tune and video. Amazing how young they all were back then! Could not find a date for that performance but guessing the late 60’s?
Thanks again,
Peter
PS on one of the OTRA music threads there is another tune or two by Emmylou I think, like this one.

Following up on Don's post on the other thread, here is a similarly named song from Rodney Crowell, but with a more somber tone . . .

Heard this Lou Reid and Carolina number on XM Blugrass Junction this morning.
In keeping with the "somber" modality of this OTRA II thread, this is definitely a sad song which may break the strangs of yor heart!
PS -- Their "The Crooked Road" will pop up on the right of the YouTube window.
Great lyrics!
" . . . The crooked road will take you back home again . . . "
Yee Ha!

Great video on this sad song!
Great follow-up tune on YouTube by Patty Loveless, with another fine video -- You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive.
Amen.

Not for a long long time apparently . . .
John Prine is great! Not sure if I posted this before, but it is worth another viewing!
Live From Here every Saturday night is a fine replacement for Prairie Home Companion.
WOW!

Watched Phenomenon again last night.
Say no more . . .
"When the road gets dark
And you can no longer see
Just let my love throw a spark
And have a little faith in me
And when the tears you cry
Are all you can believe
Just give these loving arms a try, baby
And have a little faith in me
. . . "

[John Hiatt's original version should be on the right if you watch in a new window per suggestion above.]
[Joe Cocker's cover also.]

To balance out the Richard Thompson classic on the OTRA I thread, here is another repeat with Bonnie Raitt and RT with the Dimming of The Day.
Wow, what a great sad song!

PS -- Another nice version covered by David Gilmour:

" . . . far from home . . .
. . .
. . . come on home . . . "

Cool!
Here is his tour calendar which includes some European shows in August:
https://www.johnprine.com/tour
. . . but nothing close to us.
He will be at the Ryman in early October, a great venue. Saw the Grand Ol' Opry there back in the 90's, which they do once in a while. Nashville is great.
Have fun in Louisville!

"See if you can close your eyes, and hear the steam engine's whistle in the distance . . . "
A little off the beaten path of this thread, but worth a watch IMO.
The short trailer-like version:
The full documentary -- check out the Prairie Airstream at 24:20!
Rest in Peace, Johnny Cash.
