Thanks Bob for a great cover of a fine song, and yes the essence of a road song . . .
"The first thing I remember knowing
Was a lonesome whistle blowing
And a young'un's dream of growing up to ride"
In my opinion the accumulator is not a crucial part of controlling the noise in the pump room. Gonna wait until I get all the dampening material in place incl. the underside and interior bottom of that drawer. Next step would be the flexible connectors and some pipe insulation. One step at a time is fine for now. [New grandchild (4th in 2 years) has recalibrated our time availability!]
Echoes are the main culprit IMO.
Hope your rain ends soon and you can get tomatoes in the ground before your trip maybe. Too early? Our local growers have had tomato blight problems the last few years so I didn't even plant any. Nothing like a perfectly ripe tomato from the garden on a BLT in the summer! Drooling . . . Add the mayo avocado onion and cheese on a toasted roll . . .

OK guys and gals. Old and recent tunes.
I was are of Boz from the Steve Miller Days in SF. I grew up in the East Bay and he often played at Winterland/Fillmore. While going to college in San Diego, there was ongoing discussion with a friend re the Steve Miller Band... Steve Miller vs Boz Scaggs (who were classmates in HS in Tx) as to who was the better guitarist, lyricist, vocalist....
So it was then that I wore out my 8 track and also my album of his "Boz Scaggs & Band" which I've always referred to as Monkey Time.
this is the first three cuts (on 1 of 4 on you tube)
So he came to EUG a few months ago and we caught him for his tour and the release of "Fool to Care"
too new for youtube complete version apparently so this is a favorite cut
His band rocked and Slim sounded great on the vocals. FTC isn't of his rocker blood lines and more like Silk Degrees (IMO). But none the less, a very worthy contribution from an aging rocker.

also Recorded on Common Threads (Eagles covers)...Travis just nails it.
Common Threads is top 10 for me..along with American Beauty, Skull & Roses, Moondance, Eat a Peach, Neck 'N Neck, Where's the Money, EC - White as I refer to it (Slunky et al).....TBC

Tn Traveler, Thanks! a great tune and lyrics.
Kinda reminds me of when we sold the toys and the house and converted a second home on the Sonoma coast to a primary....bout 2 hours to a red light. Time to go down a different road.

RIP Merle. Like JJ Cale, your influences are grossly underestimated and deserve greater accolades. Like with Breeze , The Road to Escondido (Possibly EC's best work IMO even considering his white album as I call it w/Slunky and Delaney & Bonney on tour with EC as backup ) and Love for Leavon
They'll be lining up for the honor of covering and remembering Merle.

BTW had lunch in your wonderdul town a number of year ago, while traveling in heavy rain from Atlanta to Washington Mo. Seems it was on the river. My wife bought me this mug as a reminder to return soon. After many moons, still our favorite soup mug

It was in a 70 Westy hardtop with a new 8 track, fresh from Marantz, Van Ness Ave. SF. First 8 Track cassettes... the Doors and Skull & Roses.

Good tunes and memories, Bob! Lots of Boz's Silk Degrees tunes in my music shuffle . . .
Here is one cut from The Road To Escondido, with a great beat and the essence of JJ Cale's and Eric Clapton's basic (good) simplicity IMO.
Great beat and lyrics:
_______________________________________________
Floatin' down that old river boy, all my worries far behind,
Floatin' down that old river boy, leave old memories way behind,
Yesterday is slowly fadin',
All my life, I've been waitin', for this time.

Ok - I'll dive in. This is a bit modern but perhaps DW's and my favorite road trip tune:

Here's a version that isn't my favorite (get the album Fat City and listen to that version, but this is a pretty sweet stripped down approach - she's a genius!).

I don't care what you say - I can't hear this without a huge lump in my throat. Another brilliant genius (both Glen the artist and Jimmy Webb the writer).
