PS there is an outrageous 10-minute version of this song on YouTube from a concert for Nelson Mandela, with Eric Clapton playing back up guitar (!), and a great sax solo in the middle. The end of the clip is trance-like guitar work . . .

[OTRA ~ Thanks Bob, funny I almost moved to Eugene in the late 70's, as I had a good job offer there, and lots of friends from all over the country had settled there. If the CalDream17 trip comes to fruition late next fall, I plan to catch up with everyone from San Diego to Seattle.]
Peter, Very funny….small world indeed. It is a great town (Track-town USA in fact...the 21 Worlds are coming to town) and state with lots to do at the beach and mountains and in town, this coming from a SF Bay Area/Sonoma Coast transplant. Certainly, colorful is an accurate description with active political discussion from both sides, plentiful music and great college football/sports. I’m glad we made the move.

[OTRA ~ OK here's one for the trip south!
Peter
Talk about cosmic…making reservations for the SD trip the other day….this song kept running thru my head! Doobies….nope, America….duh.
Try Doobie Brothers, opens with Listen to the Music, then to Rockin’ down the highway. (about 4:42)
In fact both Captain and Me
as well as Toulouse Street are awesome traveling music.

OK let's pick up the pace with the Sultans of Swing from 1978 -- a young Dire Straights!
Gee…he reminds me of Steve Winwood in his Spencer Davis period….looks about 16 and not shaving yet…or less, but he sure can play.

I remember when this was released and didn’t like it. But then again Rumors missed the mark IMO. My Fleetwood Mac preference is the Peter Green era. My CD pack standard issue is:
Kiln House
. With Bare Trees & Then Play On and Future Games also getting play time.
Admittedly, this Tusk cut has grown on me over time. Rumors just wasn’t my favorite….too popish for me at that time.
You may want to try some John Mayall. Blues Breakers Crusaders & “Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton”. Much of the same sound as early FM
BTW, were you in N County when this was recorded in Encinitas? Great Album Mark-Almond (Jon Mark & Mark Almond) always reminds me of the FM/ JM-BB’s above.
(California “Improvisations and moods on the theme of homesickness”)….CalDream16/17
: )

Hmmmm, not sure what's happening with the duplicate youtube images. I'm only pasting one link.

If you like guitar licks, try Eric Caption’s Eric Caption 1970

and checkout the Bramlett/Whitlock/Gordon influence another road rocker

Thanks Bob for the music, will listen later as I am OTRA right now.
This movie theme popped up this morning on my Bluetooth feed from the phone -- see the Rockies in the far distance as we stream west across Canada to Vancouver? The long way around for CalDream16/17 for sure!
PS ditto on the SF/Sonoma roots -- back to the FC20 Twilight Zone I guess . . .

With the mornings getting brighter, and days getting longer, OTRA fever is stirring!
Plus "Close Encounters of the Twentieth Kind" are percolating again . . .
Here is a great tune from The Roys -- Windin' Roads.
Got any new On The Road Again tunes to post?
Hope the trip is going well, Bob and Myrna. What is your dog's name? Have a canine classic song to bark out at us?
Happy Trails!
Peter
