BLT time yet?

Just clarifying that the BLT question was for CruizinDux Bob! Hope the garden is doing well. Finally got the van set up again after the new bench seat install, with a new ply floor in the back, followed by all the storage boxes/bed/etc. from before. Fridge and water heater online after flue cleaning etc.. New GC doing well, so we are moving in the direction of Hither Hills SP again in the next week or two, if only life would stop getting in the way!

Hope Rooney continues to be on the mend.

Cheers,

Peter

Peter not sure of the others but I got it. It was a slow start this yar and while I'm starting to see blossoms I have exactly 2 (TWO) golf ball sized early girls. Gee whiz wally, I'm going to search for some Oregon tomato growing music so I have a BLT for the eclipse...NOT. I'll be luck to see red by the end of Sept tho a couple of 100+/- degree days has prompted a growth spurt. Foliage I've got....it's the fruit I'm lacking. The Jays have fond the blueberies and the strawberries....good to know I'm feeding the homeless. Other crops are doin' fine.

Cheers (Multiple) for the van. You must be chomping at the bit. Not sure what "Fridge and water heater online after flue cleaning etc." translates to tho. Gongrats on GC #5 You all must be very excited.

Keep your sights on HH. I think the Lennon quote is " life is what happens when you're busy making other plans"

Maybe there's a U-tube on a Variant Strain of Killer Tomatoes that could provide some growth insight

Bob

p.s. Pickin' up Blue from the dealer tomorrow so I'll have some specifics re the limit switch (diagnosis code 1 flash 3 sec intervals) There must be a song there somewhere...

p.s.s. Thx for the Messina link (no relation to Jim I presume?) I've been listening to a Loggins & Messina grab bag mix of late

Thanks Bob, sorry about the tomatoes!

Just got back from Hither Hills SP after an unsuccessful trip out early this morning to get on the wait list for a site. Bonkers crowded already for the Fourth, . . . life getting in the way again . . . will try in a couple of weeks.

Hope you got the AS back and all is OK!

On the drive out to HHSP this morning, this old favorite tune came up -- nice beat and a catchy phrase which always gets me.
[referring to a bull-rider up on the bull -- ready for a ride]:

" . . . 'cause he sees things more clearly when that chute is open wide . . . " [2:15]

Yes!

Have a great Fourth.

Peter

Peter thanks for the Vintage. Love the pickn'anagrinin'. Time to take that tune on the road.

Don...l love the runnin' on empty. Reminds me of Forrest Gump and the soundtrack...a usual disc in the travel pack.

Same for life in the fast lane. I've been tracking a highlander TV thread and thinking of this tune was running thru my head as I had my Walkman lugged into the eagles folder.

Thanks guys for the tune tips

Everyone, have a great Fourth.

Bob

Can't resist a repeat posting of the theme from The Magnificent Seven in Post #162, which was followed by some other great Western songs, including Don's Lee Marvin selection:

Don are you familiar with the Showtime series Roadies? Had a one-season run without being renewed. What a shame. Great road action and music. Here is one from JB which was in the last episode of the season.

Happy Fourth to all!

Peter

The notes to this Little Feat version of Willin' says it is the original, with Ry Cooder playing slide. Other versions by The Byrds and Linda Ronstadt resonate as well.

Jackson Browne did a fine version on Roadies with Lucius backing up on the vocals -- see PS.

Here we go -- On The Road Again!

And Linda Ronstadt live in 1976:

Peter, I missed the series because I am not a Showtime subscriber. My son is a subscriber, and will usually call when a good music series is on. I will have to speak with him about that.

Thanks for the thought. It's raining on my mountain in Tennessee, but that doesn't dampen my spirit of thankfulness for our wonderful country.

Wow! Just discovered this thread, I have always loved travelling songs and songs that are geographical, I have a TON of them, some obscure which I will be sharing....I read the entire thread and didn't see these. First here's one of my early faves, has kind of a lonesome feel and brings back memories of being young and free.

Here's a more recent one that is a real heart wrencher, first by the original artist then my favorite cover of it:
