Naw, more like Big Brother leaving the door to Unca Scrooge's vault open (think Donald Duck comic books) and The Beagle Boys coming in and carrying away his sacks with the $ sign on them.

I think in this case it is not big brother, but the Daffy Duck cousin who makes copy machines and doesn't explain the precautions necessary.

Thanks for the information. I'll pass it along to the guy who took over after I retired. One of the many facets of his job is custodian of records-ranging from criminal history, crime reports, incident/accident reports, case logs, personnel files, internal investigations, etc. The Feds were very specific in how agencies handled criminal history information, and conducted annual audits to ensure compliance. Perhaps things have changed in the last three years, but copy machine security was not on their extensive list of security requirements.

That being said, I hope whoever gets the hard drive from my old copy machine appreciates the parts and maintenance manuals for my 2005 19' Safari.

okay, your med ofc makes a bunch of copies of your info and then gets rid of the machine-there's nothing you can do-you may not even know the copies were made. so, your undies are in a bunch but there is nothing you can do....this is like worrying about a meteor hitting your favorite lunch spot at 12 noon on tuesday, the 31 of Feb.....

I'm glad you see the problem too.

We are screwed.

Wow, what a scary video. It makes the price of my scanner/copier/printer such a bargain at any pice. Too bad I bought it just 3 years ago.

I must humbly admit that I was one of the 60% that, until now, had no idea! THANKS for 'opening my eyes' on this.
