Hi everyone,
I come here on the board and visit once in a while as much as I can, so not too many people here may know me.
Here's my story, as short as I can make it...
My dear daughter is 6 yrs. Old and in Kindergarten. I let my dd know as soon as shool started, that she could dedicate herself to one extra-cirricular after school actvity.
Kim, my dd, chose to become a girl scout.
I am all for it, 100% do what I can for my child. Even became a troop co-leader.
Well, there's always some kind of project, workshop, or as in this case- a holiday. Basically to teach the girls in the troop that all kinds of people live outside the Chicago area.
This is for "thinking day". A day to reflect the people involved creating the boy scouts and girl scouts around the world.
We decided to participate in a "Thinking Day postcard exchange". What a troop leaders does is sign up on a yahoo message board to exchange names, addresses, etc. . Another leader that agrees to the exchange is most likely in another state or country. Then an exchange is made. Afterwards, the girl scout troops or individual girls write postcards and send them to the agreed upon states.
Right now, I have found at least one troop in every state except five. (Idaho, Nebraska, N. Dakota, S. Carolina and...) Ohio.
Is there anyone who lives near the factory that can exchange a postcard with us? I thought it would be cool to get an Airstream postcard, if they exist, to display along with the rest of the ones we get in the mail.
If anyone would be willing to help us out, we'd appreciate it. My daughter would send you a post card in return.
Thanks in advance. If you are available, please contact me with your home mailing address at
