Numbers Please

Please forgive my ignorance but I am new to the Airstream life. My wife and I would like to know what the numbers are on the front of many Airstreams.

i'm thinking about putting my user name on the end cap somewhere, too. maybe at least on the back window, with the map, and VAP sticker.

you should try to trade someone for #3485... makes it easier to remember em. ha!

my grandparents WBCCI number was 16189, i remember it well... sitting in the back of the van on long trips, looking at the trailer. i guess if i joined WBCCI, i couldn't request that number, could i?

If the number isn't in use and you told them why you wanted it I suspect you could get it. I wanted 88888 to cover up all the old numbers on mine...didn't get it they gave me 2449 instead My 75 has at least 3 sets of numbers on it, mine will make the fourth

WBCCI only restricts 3 didget numbers which are given to Region Presidents. You can ask for any number 4-5 didget and if its not currently in use it will gladly be given to you. 16189 was not being used in the 2006 or the 2003 directory so I would think you have a very good chance of getting the number. 3485 was already on my unit and the couple I bought it from were getting out of WBCCI they allowed me to use it.

Member Number

Rick, Your forums member number is # 4413. It is found under the User CP tab on the forums toolbar (in blue) near the advertisements section at the top of each page. You can also find it by clicking on your member name in your Avatar from a previous post. Scroll down to find previous posts by Tarheel. It will be displayed at the bottom of the page. You can add it to your signature line and even place it in color as mine is and others have done. You can also color your WBCCI number in RED if you so choose. Fyi, Ed

Two things neither of which will change the way the world rotates. It would be nice if the WBCCI # and the AIR # were one and the same for members that enjoy both WBCCI AND AIRSTREAM FORUMS. The second is it would be helpful if there were a listing similar to the WBCCI directory where you could see the numbers and names of our fellow AIRSTREAM FORUMS members. That way when we see each other on the road we will readily recognise each other. No biggie just my $0.02

Tarheel,
That is sort of being worked on. Currently you can search the Members List and the number is there, but I don't know if the numbers themselves are search able. I know there has been some discussion about it in the past. I am just tickled to see another Airstream on the road in my travels.

We travel quite a bit 4000 miles since October up and down from NC to Florida several times and see many units on the road and in the campgrounds. Its nice to be able to walk to a unit and call the people by name and know where they are from. I saw a unit similar to mine in a campground and didn't get the chance to meet them, the next day they were gone, we met them that afternoon in the next campground, they were a past international president. We had a nice conversation and traveled with them the following day until they let I-80 and headed North as we continued East. You meet some nice folks on the road.

An Airstream just isn't an Airstream without those big red numbers.

Finding the forums member number is like finding my pulse. I can't seem to find mine. So what does this mean? I'm dead and don't exist?
