Northern Alabama; Boondock or Campground?

Hello, we are heading to Destin Fl. area in a few weeks and we are planning on stopping one night somewhere in northern Alabama. I am trying to decide whether or not to boondock in a Wally World parking lot or try to find a decent campground very close to I-65.

Does anyone have any experience with this area of Alabama?
We will probably want to stop in the Cullman vacinity, but we are up for other options.

Has anyone else boondocked at any Wally Worlds???

cullman is a bit south for me . i think there is a nice rv park in that area . havent stayed there cant give any references. would suggest you stop for the night before dark. other wise wally world is ok in this area. lol

There is a relatively new RV Park at Hanceville, south of Cullman.It is about 1 mile off I65. I stayed there last month on my way back to Hoosierland from the Mystic Rally.
Nice clean place with GREAT bathrooms.
Fee was less than $20.00 with GS discount.
Look for the Yellow signs on I65. The name of the CG is Country View.

FYI - Henderson Beach State Park in Destin is VERY nice IF you can get in. It is right across the highway (98) from the Wal-Mart Supercenter so provisions are easy to come by. The dreaded "No Overnight Parking" sign is posted but I have seen a few RV's stay the night. There is a nice outlet mall to the east. Have a great time! Don't forget the sun screen!
