We named our Safari "Le Pitit Chateau Argente". [Small Silver Castle] Keep thinking and you will find a fitting name.

Hi Bob,

Double entendre, our trailer's original owner's name was Maxwell Fleetwood...and the Beatles song.
Now if I can find that perfect Cadillac to tow it with ~

Hi Shari,

Well, I guess Maxwell's taken care of then, huh!..your Maxwell looks a little like our Safari..the doors open up different though. I don't know enough about the differences in the models and many variations!..even our model has different configs, I've noticed after reading some books..ex: the refrig and stove/oven setups are reversed, or the twins are where the pull-out sofa bed is..very interesting! Anyways, I digress..I'll have to put on the ol' thinking cap and try to come up with some name sometime soon..

How about "Sonear"

If , when thinking about your distant Airstream in a beautiful campsite, do you feel "Halfway to Paradise", do you think "Sonear, yet Safari way"?

Our Safari was nameless for over a year. We just called it "The Safari". Then we got our Caravel, which was almost instantly named "Boris" (in honor of the giant spider living there, who came to a sticky end). Once Boris arrived on the scene, the Safari became "Alpha Airstream", since we felt we needed to acknowledge that she came first. She was finally named when we installed the new hot water heater. While listening to the little ticking sound as it started up, my husband said, "Come on Sparky!" and we just knew. Give it time - some Airstreams have a way of naming themselves.

Smile What fun you get to pick a name!!

Very cute thread! 1964 was also the Chinese year of the dragon...Ours was born in the year of the rat so we decided to go with a favorite song "Margaritaville".

Trailer Names

Codybear, Ther are endless names that might apply such as: "Chitty Chitty, Bang Bang". All of us A/S owners can relate to that one! Or there is always "Rumplestiltskin", As in it slept 40+ years to awaken again for you. Of course you could go "All Hollywood" and name it "Maxwell Smart", "Chief", or even "Agent 86".... or If female, the beautiful "Agent 99". Oh yeah, If your a train travel buff you could go with "Silver Streak" or maybe.... "The California Limited". Whatever name you chose make sure to have it displayed on your signature line and maybe even painted on your coach. Hey! There's another one "The Coach"....Or the "Coach Potato"! If you are happy all of the time when you"re in it maybe "Good Humour"!!!! Good luck and pick one that makes you smile when you see it or think of your trailer. And as Roy and Dale Always Said.... "Happy Trails to You.... 'til We meet again." Ed

How About Jefferson?...

As in Jefferson Airstream a well known group of the 60s.
They were actually named after Grace Slick's parent's '58 Airstream, which the band took on tour.
But, the record company got the name wrong on the first album cover and the rest is history.
A little known fact.

Or you could call it, Starship, after the Starship Enterprise, another 60's creation.

Or you could just wait, and let it name itself as they are wont to do.

Jumpin Jehosifhat(new spelling!) Batman...has anyone thought about creating an Airstream name book - kinda like namin the baby!

We of course named our Argosy Minuet - 1978 vintage after Moonunit Zappa-WHO!!!???, not to mention the fact that she looks like something that would travel to the moon, the moon landing was a big event back then, the definition of Argosy is "ship" & like I said she looks kinda like a spaceship, AND I love anything that relates to the sun, moon & stars so she is slightly decorated w/that particular theme. It feels wonderfully right when you find the right one

How about Leo? Leo the Lion, Lion Country Safari... At least it's short and sweet.

Not only is our Airstream named Lucy, the Suburban that pulls her is named Olivia. The Tahoe that also pulls her is named Matilda. We also have a '56 Tbird named Norman T. Bird and a '58 BMW named Ichabod Isetta or as his friends call him, Ikky. We even have a spokesmoose for our company named Marvin J. Moose. You can see him at

A friend rolled up with her brand new Safari and I greeted her with "I see you brought Alice". She asked "Who is Alice?" I told her that it was right there on the side of her trailer "Safari-LS". She has called it Alice ever since.
