john,
I have not been to this new facility yet. 'Prob. won't get a chance to get over there until fall, but I picked-up a promotional brochure at our last WBCCI unit rally and it looks as if it will be a top notch dealership. One of the advertised points is that these folks are going to carry only 2 or 3 brands of RV's (including Airstream) with the anticipation that they can, then, provide specialized expertise in sales and service of these particular brands of RV's.
In theroy, this should work well for the customers.
It sounded as if they are still finishing-up the conversion and building of the service facility, but are fully open for business.
If you (or any other forum members) get to this new dealer's, please report.

why, as a matter of fact, I was there this past Saturday! I ordered a new catch for my streetside segment protector and had it drop shipped. They are new. VERY new. They have two Airstreams right now on their lot. They're in a converted lumber yard. When it's finished, it'll be a killer RV dealership. Apparently they have a couple of folks who are Airstream-saavy, and apparently their service department must have someone with Airstream know-how as they've already reskinned on trailer, and did a BEAUTIFUL job; I got to see the trailer they reskinned.
They seem to be nice folks, and their parts department folks seem to be knowledgable. I think they'll do well once they get going.

new dealer report
just got back from the bike rally and visited the dealer.
they are under construction and open for business!! as of saturday they had 3 new trailers on the lot. the sales rep that norby and i spoke to was very helpful and showed us through the new rigs. their parts dept. is well stocked and had many common items needed for day to day camping needs.
the indoor showroom is going to be huge! the sales rep stated that they will have a spot for overnight stays with electric and water for customers there for service. nice touch!
looks like it will be a first class operation when they are finished with construction.
here are some pics of the inventory...

Follow-up
My first experience with them was excellent! The parts manager called me on Monday after my late-Saturday afternoon drop-in. He ordered the parts and took my credit card number. Airstream drop-shipped the parts and I had them Wednesday afternoon.
Obviously, they don't have the 40 years of service experience of Ace Fogdall, and they don't have vintage parts lying around from being in business that long, but they do provide excellent customer service. I'll be a repeat customer.
