New Airstream model

OK, you got me, it is not an Airstream. It is the new Shelby 50th anniversary Daytona Coupe. Only 50 to be built at a cost of $365,000. All aluminum hand formed body. There were only 6 originally built and currently worth over $7.7 million. Plastic body models will be available for the discounted price of only $165,000.

Remember Cosby's monologue on the original version? Comes standard equipped with a cop car in the rear view mirror...way back.

That sure is a beautiful automobile. It moves right into the class of a Gull Wing Mercedes. Your would think for the price that they would includwe roll-up side windows.

This is a pure retro race car that just happens to be barely street legal. I have driven an original at speed on track. One of the most uncomfortable cars ever built. Built and designed for one purpose, to win races. No Ac, no heater, no radio and a rock hard suspension that feels every ripple, bump and pebble. Scary fast. There were only six Daytonas built. They are only building fifty of the new Daytona 50 year anniversary replicas.

Fast cars vs, Tow vehicles

So, in 2008, I had a 2005 Porsche Cayenne Turbo, and it towed both my 2007 International Safari Ocean Breeze 25D and my 2009 International Safari Ocean Breeze 27FB. At 10 - 12 mpg, maybe 13 on a good day. Unhook the AS and it went to 100 mph in about 12 seconds, could easily hit 150 mph+ on I-25 between Trinidad and Denver, Colorado....

And, this had only 450 hp, 460 ft/lbs torque.

The new ones have 570 hp, 570 ft/lbs torque...top speed of 176 mph... in an SUV.

Do these tow trailers well......not IMO as the torque curve is not designed for towing. But, it goes like stink once you get there....

Who wants a Ford, anyway?...LOL
