Cruiser you make me laugh too. Mountains, River Runs Through it wow my imagination is running wild - how about the water mill to supply your personal trout pond and to water the wild flower meadow gardens????
Peter and I always bought new homes and refinnished the basements and decorated everything - just restless people I guess- always a need to be doing something - when 7 years came we would up and sell and double our money.
But our latest of the past 4 years - was a 10 year old Post & Beam not quite finished, nesstled in 4 acres of a beautiful Hemlock forest bordered by an active Beaver pond. Our big saying was - we'll do this just temporary for now - sort of like band-aiding everything as we moved from a larger home into a smaller home but wanted to build an addition right away and had not room for anything.
As you get older you get slower and tend to want to enjoy the fresh air in a completely different way
So more space priority - became a more sun priority - so 3 years of outdoor landscaping became the new project! I must say we did it all ourselves except cut down the 70+ trees and the project is never-ending and has been a blast. And in the height of summer the gardens are spectacular.
Inside we are half done the kitchen cupboards, half done the island half done the loft have done the pine floors and know exactly what we want to do next - there is no question - ALL OF IT.
So our new saying is "Permanently Temporary". It is a good thing we really get a long - this place is starting to look like "Green Acres" but I'm no Eva Gabbor
