Never heard of Airforums? Really?

Today on my way out of camp, I spotted aluminum on the next row over. Vintage aluminum, Small vintage aluminum. So I decided to be a bit later for work and stopped to chat for 10 minutes.

Nancy D. had been a long time member of Indian Cove campground, but had only recently gotten her 1966 Caravel. It hadn't sold on e-bay and she got in touch with the owner and did the deal later. It looks quite nicely renovated inside. She's hiding out in the campground because they're having work done on their home and she can't take the dust. Her hubby is supervising at home, and visiting her at the campground from time to time.

I asked her if she knew about airforums.com and she did not. Then I asked if she was a member of WBCCI and she's not. She is planning to get on the forums today and look around. I'm frankly just a bit surprised because when I think back, more often than not when I'm on the road and meet a fellow Airstreamer - I'm doing the OOOH, you might want to check out the Airforums website number. I haven't kept a running total, but I think I must have met a couple dozen individuals at rest stops or campgrounds who have Airstreams and only 2 or 3 had ever heard of the forums. Is this your experience too?

Paula

Yes your observation is not unusual. I carry a B card with, in addition to my info, my Airforums user name on it a give one to those Streamers that have never heard of the Forum.

Strange isn't it? When we first got interested in our Bambi a couple years ago I searched for Airstream forums and found Airforums but somehow I kept thinking "this cant be what I am after..." I kept looking and found myself first joining the Yahoo group. It was only after finding nothing else that I came back here and began really poking around. I seem to remember thinking this site had to be about "something else".
Perhaps I am just slow....

Paula we just attended the Vintage Trailer Academy with many other vintage owners and hopeful owners and some of them had not heard of Airforums either.

I guess I'm the opposite, almost every 'Stream owner I meet is aware of, or has a strong interest in the Airforums. Just last week I arrived back at my camper to find a Bambi parked next door. After a couple of jokes about over feeding my camper (I was in the 34') we both jumped right into the conversation and one of the first things was Airforums. :30 later, I was online and sent a Friend Request!
