Jerry,
I am a member (non-participating at the moment ) of the ENCU. I have no idea how active the other units in the state are. I would see if you can find out when the next rally for the Piedmont unit is and see if they are compatible with you. You don't have to join the closest unit. I know the Washington DC unit (I believe it is WDCU) has a large multi state following along with several others. The ENCU is about half way between old school and new school, I hope in the next year to become a bit more active in my unit.

Mustang, I did hear from Guy after emailing him about the Piedmont group, but I have too many things going with the City of Graham for 9 11 ceremonies to get away. I'll have to try for the next rally.
Thanks
Jerry

I am a member of the Piedmont Unit. We have a rally this weekend in Flat Rock, NC at Orchard Lake Campground. Stop by for a visit. You'll be very welcome with this group.

Jerry,
I was encouraged by reading Rob Baker's blog, Sweet Sovereign of the Road
Rob is a regular on the VAP vintage Airstream Podcast and is soon to be inducted as the president of the WDCU ( Washington DC Unit) of which I am an associate member.
There is also a vintage trailer rally on the first weekend of October in Glendale Springs, NC at Raccoon Holler Campground, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. No really formal activities are planned except for an open house Saturday afternoon, and a potluck later in the evening.
We are also having a FORUMS rally the first weekend of November in Hiawassee, GA. Check out the thread Falluminum in North Georgia. I'll be there on site F-5.
Looking forward to meeting you someday.

Hello All, We have been waiting to sign up as well, didn't know what group, etc. We live in Saluda half the year, would it be possible to come to the campground this weekend to meet you all and see what it is all about?

I am not with the Piedmont unit, but I am sure they would welcome any and all interested people. That is how we found the ENCU, they were having a rally at the KOA closest to our house, we drove up on a Saturday and met with them and were members before we left I have also spent time with other groups around the country and have always felt welcome. I have yet to take my Airstream to an event of any sort...it is still in pieces undergoing it's 120 step rehab.

nc bambi, You will be welcomed with opens arms there. Be sure to locate our President, and first lady, Jim and Midge Markus. They will be camping in a 17' Caravel or a 24' Tradewinds. Both are vintage trailers and are highly polished. I will not be able to attend this rally, but I know Jim and midge well. Come on over and say hello.
