I caught the show about the top ten National Parks, it was great very hands on no watching through the windshield. Made us want to go out, hook up the Airstream and take off. I think all of them were out west so it's a lot of driving for a weekend camping trip but the time will come when we can get out for an extended period. Right now we can only watch, dream, and plan.

I became a National Park addict several years ago.
In a little over two year's time, I went to Carlsbad Caverns, Guadalupe Mountains, Arches, Canyonlands, Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon, Petrified Forrest/Painted Desert, Glen Canyon NRA/Lake Powell, Grand Staircase Escalante, Lake Mead NRA/Hoover Dam, Death Valley, Zion, Bryce, Big Bend, Saguaro, Sonoran Desert NM, and Organ Pipe Cactus NM, and a couple Najavo Tribal Parks such as Monument Valley, and Four Corners.
I have yet to see a National Park that did not deserve the name. The National Parks Pass for $50 (I think), is a great bargain. These are truly National Treasures to see, preserve, and protect.

Bad News

I just read an article this morning about the current administration is planning on cutting $235M from the Forrest Service budget. In the Pacific NorthWest they plan on closing or curtailing use in 19 parks.
Hope there will be something left in the near future.

We stayed at Lassen Volcanic National Park last summer for 10 days. When our kids were growing up, we took them there every summer, and they learned so much by attending the campfire shows and nature walks. At that same campground (which has 100+ campsites), they no longer conduct campfire shows or nature walks....due to budget cuts! What's next...only clean the restrooms once a month?

Try these steps by clicking where it says:
1.Click here to go to forum interface.
2.Go to heading "Airstream Community Forums", then click 'On The Road'.
3 Just below the box with the heading of, Sub-Forums "On The Road", you'll see
a blue box that says New Thread. This is where you can start your own thread.
Let me know how it works for you..
ciao
