My house got demolished!

As some of you know, I'm now living in my tradewind full time during the construction of my house. Today was demolition day! It didn't take long and now I have a crushed house in my yard. They took one bin away today and will take the rest away on monday. The pups didn't know what to think when it was all done. They came out of the trailer and each did a double take.

Now you see it now you don't! What type of house are you building and how long will it take? Are you able to stay right on site through the entire process?

Carol, if you click the link to my blog, there is an elevation drawing you can see. Now that things are finally moving, I'll update the blog quite regularly to show the progress. It is a three storey front to back duplex for me and my parents. My half will have a suite in the basement that actually will open onto the garden. I'll be living on the property during construction. It'll take about ten months.

What a great idea. That makes so much sense. Good luck on your venture and I will follow the blog with anticipation. I think the private walk out to the garden is super too.

It needed new axles anyway. Were you using any antisway? More wheelbase next time is my suggestion...

Do you have space to store the Tradewind on the lot after the project is complete? A worthy project! Congrats!!

We have been working with several contractors on a remodel of our kitchen. We thought that was a big deal.

Amazing! Too bad you probably had to pay for the demolition - Mother Nature can do that for free - we had tornadoes in New Hampshire this week that did an amazing amount of demolition in under five minutes - but then your neighbors might not be too happy if they were included!

Best wishes for the construction to get done on schedule.

The running gear must have been out of balance. That is the only way it came down so easily. good luck with the project.

Were you able to salvage anything to reuse before the knockdown? This will be exciting for you and the "boys" as rebuilding begins. ~G

Congratulations Cameron,

You must be so excited that the project is now underway. With your living on the site, it will make for easy monitoring of the construction. What better place to be than in a cozy trailer with canine pals. Did you incorporate any Feng Shui concepts into your design?

Wishing you a speedy construction with no delays,
Larry, Bill, and the fur kids

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Hopefully all goes smoothly and according to my drawings.

Larry, I didn't use any Feng Shui in my design. At least not intentionally!
