SilverToy,

I agree with you that the Airstream has the "it" factor but the Prevost has the "wow" factor and they both speak loudly to me.
As to people wanting tours of the coach, my husband is always bringing people into the Prevost while I'm cooking dinner. There has not been a single camping trip we have made, were someone did not want to take a tour of the bus.

P.S. I could be coaxed outside for a glass of wine.

It's a big world out there with room for everyone to camp in...with whatever you are driving or carrying in your backpack. To each their own and if it makes you happy, great!

I think the problem here is that this is an AIRSTREAM forum so the very large, very expensive motorhomes are playing to the wrong audience. I was fortunate to be able to pick just exactly what I wanted to camp in and the 16 foot Quicksilver Bambi was just what I wanted for a variety of reasons. But I bet if I went to the Prevost forum to talk up my baby...they just wouldn't get it. Nothing personal. Just the wrong audience.

Your Right

Hey BamCamper you hit the nail right on the head. Leave the Prevost-stuff off the Airstream Forum these two camps are two different animals and never the two shall meet on common ground. Lets Rally

Yeah baby!!!!

Let's camp!!! Yeah, baby, YEAH!!!

It's just that my SilverToy is about 250 miles south of me, and getting about 6 inches of snow on her roof - while I have sunny and 50's...

Is there ANY justice in that scenario?!?

I mean, I need to install the 2nd Fantastic Vent, unpack from the New Year's trip that SilverToy still hasn't seen home from, then I HAVE to pack for the Four Corner's Unit Rally in mid-February.... it's just NON-STOP!!!!

Seriously, having FUN, using our campers (AS, Newell, Prevost, ?) and enjoying drawing a breath each and every day is what the bottom line is!!!!

Hoping to see & meet, each and EVERY ONE!!!! of you folks out there, on the road!!! is what it is all about.

Peace

Axel
SilverToy

PS - I hope that SilverToy is still 'speaking' to me after I have left her alone for lo this many weeks.... Maybe if I bring that Fantastic Vent, presented properly, and chocolates...!?! she'll let me back in.... We'll just have to 'talk' it out... FV for her, chocolates for me.

We love our AS 345 and while camping we spend as much time outside as possible. I have to laugh because a lot of times our dogs will ask to go inside the MoHo while we stay outside Kip uses the appropriate RV for the function, my husband uses the same sort of principle which is why we have about 10 cars

Ron, maybe the dogs want to go inside because of the way you dress them.......

You know, really the difference between camping in an Airstream and a Provost is kind of like hunting in a hunting club and hunting on a southern quail plantation. It boils down to the style you want to do it in...for a look at Southern quail plantation hunting, try Tom Wolfe's "A Man in Full". Yes, they really do hunt like that on quail plantations in south Georgia/north Florida. That area is full of big ole plantations whose sole purpose is hunting quail.

Alex I feel your pain when your love is soooo far away. When Friday the 17th comes around and your at the Four Corners Rally and I'm Malibu in the Airstream with some old friends along with lots of new friends and we give a toast to the Four Corners Rally group from afar. My new friend azflycaster and Cowboy and my now my newest pen pal friend you will get a special toast from me, even though we have not met I've not been to a rally where I did not meet a lot of new friends and if your going you must to be OK. Lets each take pics of us in Malibu and you with Cowboy & azflycaster and their spouses & exchange pics on the forum after the events. Lets rally

SilverToy,
I'm sure your AS will still "speak" to you. We have left ours for extended periods of time and it always "speaks to us, but it does help to bring gifts.

Have a great time at the four corner's rally, we will be thinking of you while we are in Malibu.

"Football Foto" - A Tradition is born!!!

Hello all!!!

Had an "A-HA!!!" moment just now. A 'new' tradition that can be used for all AirStream Forum rallies, all rallies in fact!

A "Football Foto". Get everyone at the rally to gather, front row on one knee, second row leaned oover them and the 3rd row upright, etc....

These fotos can be gathered as a keepsake (is there room on the server!?) of all ASF rallies.

I'm going to suggest this for the FCU rally as well, and I'll gladly trade with anyone that is willing to x-out the eyes of the innocent so the FBI/ WBCCI can't find us - kidding!

Seriously, what a great way to remember the rallies and all that attended it. For the short and longer term...

A new tradition!? I hope so.

Axel

So, a 'Tradition' it is!?

One vote for, 2 actually....

Any other thoughts!?

I'm looking for a 'NON- optional' event, something that is rather anti-thetical to more than a few of the 'new' units.... but still!? It's really not that bad... and there are SO MANY upsides....

Input!?

Axel
