Mice B gone !

I bought 4 Electronic Pest Control things today from walmart for $20 (Black and Decker).

So far I have seen 12 mice, 14 spiders and an assorted number of other critters walking single file up my driveway.........all carrying bags and those little hobo sticks full of crumbs and assorted snacks to last them until they get to their next shelter.

Anyone else try these ?

I have a couple of the Decon version. They seem to do a pretty good job, but they do not always work

We have had mice in our Globie, as well as our house. With the house, I had success plugging up holes and cracks. I just did the same with the trailer, and we'll see how well it worked. SO, I'd say try to plug their source of entrance. I would never, ever use poison, because of the possibility of one of my pets or someone elses getting hold of the poisoned mouse and being poisoned. Not as bad, but still gross, is when a poisoned mouse or two dies in the wall. We had this problem in our families beach house. Suffice it to say, it's kind of like your own horror movie, invasion of the house flies, and what IS that smell.

I put one in every outlet in our trailer - no good. What I did do that worked was find all the possible place the little buggers can get into and sealed those up.
The Motorhome I am convinced is impossible to seal up but Buttercup was sealed up with screens and what not and we haven't seen a mouse in a long time.

Mice rule

This is 3rd thread about mice in 3 days and how to get/keep them out.
Must be from global warming.
Maybe they are going to take over the Airstreams of the world.
You might try "Fresh-Cab.This from one of the other threads.

For those considering using Decon or any other type of poison, please take a look at my blog. You'll see some pretty awefull pictures of what the PO did in my trailer. Thank the gods that I found it. It had a mouse motel going on in my belly pans, walls and underneath my tub.

As far as the ultasonic pest control devices. I did put those in my trailer when it was in one piece. It did evict the rodents that were in there, evident in the amount of dead mice that my cat kept bringing to the door for me But the combination of plug in devices and the cat seemed to do the trick.

You can also see in some of my pictures where the rodents were coming in the trailer. Particularly, they found a hole in the rear bumper "trunk" that lead right into the belly pan and therfore, right into the rest of the trailer due to the various holes that were in the floor. I've been doing alot of research on remiedies that others have done and come to the conclusion that the best thing is prevention through sealing up every last hole, crack or opening of where a rodent could enter. The list is pretty long, but luckily I'm in a position that I can do them all as I put my trailer back together.

House Mouse Prevention and Control

go with the sonic deer gizmos, just place 1 on a table and 1 on the floor...

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f463...ces-44845.html

they don't work either BUT use less electricity and when the mice realize u r worried about deer INSIDE the stream...

they'll go to safer places...

unless they are deer mice.

OR if ya wanna NOISE 'em away and kill 'em with carbon monoxide use your genset...

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f448...-ok-57267.html

and IF u'd just leave the spiders and monsters alone, they'd chase off the mice..

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f161...tch-56769.html

or u could drown them...

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f456...-in-57444.html

it's time 2 get back 2 the circle of life thing and let nature control nature...

although the sound of a spring loaded trap snapping the neck of ONE little bugger might be enough noise to scare the rest away...

cheers

Used the black and decker rodent repeller plugged it in under the kitchen cabinet.Set a mouse trap under it. Next morning I had a mouse in the trap. Wish I would have gotten a pic.I have had to resort to traditional mouse traps nothing else seems to work.

totally agree with Gypsy Jo, electronic gadgets dont work, exclusion first then plain old snap traps if they do get in. Anticoagulant baits not a good idea esp if your not familiar with them. Free advice from a bugman.

I managed to plug up the holes in the AS, after catching a bunch of mice in traditional traps. Also, cutting down tall grass in the area around the trailer I think helped, the mice may be less likely to venture where they are exposed to all the various hawks we have flying around here. I work in the greenhouse at our community garden, where we had mice problems as well, and we planted pots of mint, placed around the flats of seedlings. The smell filled the greenhouse and the mice went away. I don't know if one caused the other, but it smells good.

DECON, works every time......clean and quick.
Something has been added to Decon, the mice do not smell, they just get all hard and solid and they do not rot, therefore no smell.........

I avoid using poison because dead mice make great playthings for cats and dogs, and there is always that one mouse you can't find, but they can.
