Airstreamers!

Interesting that you should ask this question on an Airstream forum.
My perception is that quite a few Airstreamers dance. My wife and I are fair-to-middlin' ballroom dancers. (We met in dance class 18 years ago and are still taking them.) In our dance class of about 20 couples, we and one other couple are Airstreamers. I know a couple of other Airstreamers who formerly danced with our studio.
Dancing at various rallies leads me to believe that Airstreamers (WBCCI members, anyhow) average fairly high in dancing ability.
Keep on dancin',

Everyone dances. Some are more shy, some are less shy about it. Some of us have spouses who don't like to dance in public and so we dance with folks we hardly know. Some dance better after a drink or two. Some dance without needing partners. Some dance to music that others can't hear. But at least in our hearts, everyone dances.

Swingers
Swing, baby!
I took lessons for a few years many moons ago. I went through the whole process of fear and loathing to, hey, I can do this. East coast (Jitterbug) and West Coast Swing. WCS is slower, more blues swing style. Very interesting dance that unforunately not many people learn. Kind of difficult to keep up as so few people take the time to learn that style. It takes two to tango...or swing.
We danced at the last Airstream Homecoming with the Trailer park troubadoors, and at the 2008 Vintage trailer Jam to a very nice bluegrass country swing band. Somebody had to. The music was good!

I'm surprised...
No one here has admitted to being a Contra (Dancer, not Revolutionary) Fan. It would seem to fit the Airstreamer attitude.

I'm sorry, I don't dance. I used to, but that was before I got married.
Someone once described men dancing as a frog in a blender. I resemble that remark these days; I don't dance any more.

It's a real treat to watch those who know how to dance - but here in Northern Ontario the steel-toed boots always present a bit of a challenge .... one that we do our best to overcome but we can never get away from that look of fear in our partners eyes ....

Motown
It was our anniversary yesterday and I have the pleasure of dancing to this with my bride every year -- now we are accompanied by our 8-year old boy and his dog.

Looks like a nice double neck Fender String Master steel guitar in the photo. I can dance but not that good. I was always in the band furnishing the music.
