I am posting on behalf of a Client of mine. He is transporting a 1960 Tradewind to me and the door has disappeared somewhere in Tennessee. He was on 40 east bound when the door disappeared. The door was on when he fueled up at exit 35, but was gone the next morning at exit 56 when he began his next day. He has contacted Tennessee DOT to report it missing, but I thought I might put a word out in hopes someone local might take a look or keep an eye out. There is a possibility someone might have taken it at the motel, but a blow off is a greater possibility.
Seems like it would be apparent if it was theft, or blow-off, wouldn't it? Wouldn't blow-off leave some mangling of the hinges, or deformed rivet holes where the rivets had pulled out, or some dents on the body, or other things like that? Sheesh, what a bummer, either way! Good luck getting it back, or an insured replacement.
