I have camped and RV'd for over thirty years, in fact have owned 23 SOBs of all kinds, and am finally ready to join the Airstream community. But I am struggling to decide whether to purchase a used BaseCamp, a 2018 Classic (I hear the electric awning is to die for!), or a 2017 Class A Motorhome/non-Airstream (have my eye on a great deal, new on the dealer's lot!). Hoping to hear advantages/disadvantages of each. Wanting to buy today or tomorrow.

I tried to post photos of my 1997 Toyota Sienna Minivan (tow vehicle or Toad, depending) but can't seem to figure out how to do so.

Also wondering thoughts on best camp chairs.

Still working so probably only using 1 or 2 weekends a year for now but in the next 20 years hope to be using 5-6 months a year!

Hope this isn't hijacking the thread. I didn't read any Forum rules when I signed up and honestly haven't read any of the posts in this thread.

But you all seem so friendly so I figured I would just "go for it". What the heck, right? If the mods want to move this to the Towing thread or somewhere please feel free.

Thanks!
One of the best posts yet!!!!!

This might be just what we need to get this thread closed! I'll start...

Please post pics of the Sienna, along with 3-pass CAT scale readings. You will need to upgrade your tires, add nitrogen and I recommend Amsoil synthetic products. and let us know your dates and routes of travel so we can keep our kids off the school bus that day.

Are the bagpipes made in China? Those are really of questionable quality. Some say dangerous if played at high frequency and you stand too close. The best are now produced in Canada. The exchange rate makes them quite afordable.

Travel safe. Smile when you say that. Pat

Life and death of a thread

No, but the proverbial ‘fat lady’ is warming up on the wings...it ain’t over until she enters, stage right, and sings...

Cue Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd in “Kill the Wabbit” end scene...

And sometimes, the question the original poster asks actually gets answered.

Of course the bagpipes are scotch-Irish! They traditionally play the best for funerals.
(Display a sad, frownyface here, please.)

Of course, back in the bad old days, they were used as a weapon of mass terror...

Life and death of a thread

I have found that if I pour Irish Whiskey into Scotch bagpipes and Scotch whisky into Irish bagpipes, both types of bagpipes sound much better.
