Let's Help Bob Wheeler

As many of you know, Bob Wheeler was going to reply to our comments, complaints and suggestions. Airstream Marketing was last heard from July 17, more than six weeks ago: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f318...eam-53083.html

Bob was going to speak to us via video, but he must, for some reason, be tongue tied. He could restate what he has written in promotional materials, such as "This latest fleet … continues the tradition of extraordinary design and hand crafted quality …" [emphasis supplied], and Airstream "…offers the latest technology advancements…."

But, perhaps you'd like to give some suggestions, briefly (remember it's only for a video), what Bob should tell us.

Gene

Funny you posted this today, as I was just wondering what happened to that thread. Thought maybe he went on vacation.

Maybe he saw how bad the politicians around the country are getting beat up pretty bad at their town hall meetings and decided it was best to stay in the Mother Ship.

I was wondering too!

I do hope there will be some sort of meaningful response.

Not to reply after raising the prospect would be worse than never having mentioned it in the first place!

Maybe it is just a matter of time, but it certainly seems to have been a while since everyone's comments were submitted. All seemed to be sincere and well thought out, and quite appropriate to me.

Could it be that the person within AS who made he the initial post without seeking the authority to do so? Hardly seems likely.

We recently bought our first Airstream, a recent model used one, and so far have been quite happy with it.

However, despite our limited experience to date, which has so far been good, a lot of the quality issues and such that I have since read about on this forum would make it quite unlikely that I would ever consider a brand new Airstream unless I were to be convinced by some pretty encouraging responses from the Company.

You'd think this forum would be a very valuable resource to AS in many respects.

Oh well, as they say, "Good things come to those who wait!" (Hope so anyway).

Here's Wheeler's video if drafted by nervous lawyers and marketing experts:

"If anyone has been upset with quality control, corrosion, or other issues, I want to say we here at Airstream are very concerned and want to assure you that we care very much about your happiness. We work very hard here at Airstream to make sure our trailers are built with the utmost care and that they give each and every one of our customers joyous travels around this great country. As I'm sure you know, Airstream has a long history of manufacturing quality and stylish trailers that are trend setters in the industry. The Museum of Modern Art in New York City has an Airstream trailer on display as an icon of American design. We here at Airstream ask that you read the limited warranty, one of the best in the industry, and you will see that we have made sure that any problems you may have within a reasonable period of time are taken care. I, on behalf of all the fine workers and staff at Airstream, thank all of you for your kind suggestions and questions.

Your friend, Bob"

I didn't realize Gene had stated this thread. Well, I say that may be what the Lawyers might craft but I think Bob Wheller has to "man up" and face the questions and give some honest no BS answers (my BS antena are sensitive in the Fall ) no matter how tough. Otherwise he's going to be seen as a wuss.

I'm afraid all the worms will have left the can before we hear from them again.
