I thought I would start a thread to post info on the latest recalls going out. You can sign up for these recalls notices at Home | National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Looks like a few different brands of tires are out there made from a bad batch of rubber compound.


NHTSA Campaign ID Number: 12T011

Synopsis:
TBC Corporation (TBC) is recalling certain Sigma Stampede Radial SUV tires, size P265/70R17, equipped with DOT code UTT6TX60112. Contaminated rubber may have been used in the tread compound which could result in tread separation. Tread separation can result in loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. TBC will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires free of charge. Free mounting and balancing will also be included, as applicable. The recall is expected to begin on July 2, 2012. Owners may contact TBC at 1-901-363-8030. TBC‚s recall number is 156.

Synopsis:
Cooper Tire & Rubber Company (Cooper) is recalling certain Cooper brand Discoverer H/T tires, sizes LT235/85R16 and P265/70R17; Discoverer LSX, size 265/70R17; and Mastercraft Courser HTR, size LT235/85R16. Also included in this recall are tires branded as Del-Nat Delta A/S Sierradial or National A/S Commando, size 265/70R17; Pep Boys Definity Dakota H/T, size P265/70R17; and TBC Sigma Stampede Radial SUV, size P265/70R17. Contaminated rubber may have been used in the tread compound which could result in tread separation. Tread separation can result in loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. Cooper will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires free of charge. Free mounting and balancing will also be included, as applicable. The recall began on June 15, 2012. Pep Boys will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires free of charge. Free mounting and balancing will also be included, as applicable. The recall is expected to begin on July 9, 2012. I never received any recall info about rear reflectors. I'll contact Airstream.

Dave, great find. I'm suppose to have 4400lb axles and my VIN isn't showing a recall. I think I better get under there and look for a part number on the axles themselves though!

Gene...we did a get a recall notice letter that included two small squares of reflective tape to add to the back of the rig below the tail lights. I thought that was a pretty lame "solution" to the problem.

We did not use them. I bought strips of red and white reflective tape like you see on the bumpers of trucks and applied to the rear bumper...it not only looks great but no one is going to miss seeing the back end our Bambi in the dark when they shine their headlights on it.

SUMMARY:
Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling 2013-2014 Airstream Interstate recereational vehicles manufactured August 2012 through October 2013. In the affected vehicles, the installation of the propane tank and the regulator may damage the regulator, allowing propane to escape out of the safety release vent if it experiences an over pressurized condition.
CONSEQUENCE:
If the vehicle is parked in an enclosed storage area, in the presence of an ignition source, the escaping propane can collect and potentially cause a fire and or explosion to occur.
REMEDY:
Airstream will notify owners, and dealers will replace the regulator on the propane tank, free of charge. The recall in expected to begin by early February 2014. Owners may contact the Airstream Warranty/Service Department by phone at 1-937-596-6111.
