Just saw this thread tonight so I will share additional info For those of you planning to be in the Ohio area next weekend check out the Ohio Paddle Quest 2009!
Michael, why do you hold back--you never mentioned anything "kayak" when we were yaking at the 4CU rally! I gotta have the T-shirt. Gotta have it.
PBEARSAILOR, great choice of kayaks! I just got back from Port Townsend and some hands-on with all the Pygmy models. I selected the Arctic Tern. Now I need to focus focus focus on putting it together. Gotta be ready for the Wooden Boat symposium in September...
More about NW kayaking in a travel thread, later today.

what gives man??
I give you a guided tour of the Lodi Nile and you were taking pictures the whole time.
Instead of posting them you shamelessly plug your award winning shirt designs with your mug shot, lol. How about some Nile shots. dig around.
Roger- what epoxy are you gonna use??
pb- how much does your fine crafted yak weigh? looks nice, pretty gutsy using the dining room chairs to show it off!!
Anyone know of any good brackets that I could use on my Jeep Liberty, and use while Im towing my Airstream. I wanted something for the top of the Liberty. Any Ideas?

I was hoping last weekend that we had traded finally traded skis for boats but with another dump of 10 cm of snow in the forecast for this weekend, I dunno
Anyway, this was our trip from last weekend - first paddle of the season AND with the airstream!
The rig all nice and tucked in at Ghost Lake rec area:
Me in my 19' Seaward Chilco - a very fast boat that's easy to roll, at least for the first 180 degrees...
My wife in her 16' Seaward Cosma
Apres yak Greek fest! Let's face it, getting to eat lots of great food after a long paddle is what kayaking is really all about!

Tim, when your right your right
Tim showed me a super great time on the Lodi Nile.
Here are some shots from my first Kayak Trip.
The shots of Tim's hand made Kayak do not do his fine workmanship justice.
Our penchant for tandem bicycling led us to tandeming kayaking.

Despite your good advice, Pygmy talked me into using the standard West System. They "promised" that if I pay attention and recoat within the stated times, I won't have to sand and the blush won't be a problem. We'll see...
Thanks for the very cool visit. I can't wait to stop by again and take a trip on the Lodi Nile. It looks very peaceful.
Been paddling a lot lately- 10 of the last 14 days.
Here's a few shots-- last nite full moon on the Lodi Nile, runnin down stream on the Moke River and a little hard hat stuff on the American River.Just havin fun!!
I am thinking about getting a Kayak for the wife and I...What to you think of the double seater...Hey Moostags, how do you like yours???
I'm 6'-4" tall and need a lot of leg room and have lower back prob's.
we both love to fish...is this a good choice for us.
The best advice comes from the ones that are out there doing it..........
Thanks
David

DOORGUNNER, good to see your CLC boat out on the water! I just finished making the 16' table for assembling the Pygmy Arctic Tern. Hope to have it done by 15 Aug. The pressure's on.
OK, so I was going to be worried about banjo music this weekend during paddle quest, but now that I have received this video in e-mail... maybe I should be concerned! LOL
We have a 16' canoe/rowboat (glued lapstrake plywood-Tom Hill design/built) and a 11' double paddle canoe I built. We just took our 65 globetrotter on our first adventure to the Chasahowitzka river.
A taste of the real Florida- alligators, otters, lots of birds, clear spring water.
I'm using this as a test to see if I can post photos
